Retired Lady Blasts The Denver City Council Meeting – “You ask how I am coping…”

This is a post that Elon Musk put up, that offers the recorded video where one single well-informed citizen lets the local government understand how  the liberal desire to house and feed 40,000 new immigrants is not even possible under the budget that is available.

She discusses her own personal struggle of trying to pay property taxes, car insurance, medication, etc. All from her income of 30K a year.

And now she gets her food from a food bank and clothes from thrift shops.

One of Musk’s other posts is his simple texting to the effect that every single 100 days, the US adds another one trillion dollars to its monetary woes.

But also remember – Trump’s wall to protect the border would have cost our society too much money!!

Well, it’s Denver, so that must be a big part of it.  I get by on a little over $21k after Medicare, including mortgage payments (for another 2.5 years) and property taxes etc.  But I’m not in Denver…

Not that many years of inflation will reduce a more comfortable annual income of $60K to what this lady is subsisting on.

    Yes that is exactly right.

I already know plenty of people living on 60K right now who are dipping into retirement funds or into college funds just in order to handle necessities like clothes for the kids, new shoes for the family, and an occasional outing. (People need food for the soul as much as they need to pay for med bills and car insurance.)

In Europe, people are taking to the streets. I wonder if that can happen here or not.

Just an old accounting major.  But trying to recall the cost  of the border wall when Trump had so much trouble getting funds to build it and I believe had to take money out of the DOD budget. Good work. Was it $12 billion? $15?  Probably a fraction of what our Democratic mayor pals are shoveling out for the 8 million illegals wanting free meals and hotels.  Of course Governor Pandera going a step beyond. Free mortgages in California.  Just build the damn wall. Then figure out how to move the criminals back to Venezuela. We have plenty of Air National Guard aircraft.

You most likely don’t have to worry about health insurance payments, which eat up a lot of a senior citizen’s income.

Older comics joke that coming soon, our Social Security monies will  just go directly off to United Health Care, but I’m not seeing the humor in those remarks. It is too close to the truth.

The cost that was cited back in 2017  was 5 billion.

It would have been a bargain even at the 15 billion you mentioned.

I did say after Medicare.  Although other than my underlying condition of chronic ulcerative colitis (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), my overall health is fairly good.

Great and most significant is Musk promoted it.

Musk is a guy who get’s it almost right away and instantly focuses on causes and effects.

I understand how his mind works. (That in no way makes me equal in the mind power, lol), but I understand the basis.

He has fully internalized the Western Canon having read his encyclopedia front to back., and after his life as an engineer entrepreneur visionary, he buys a giant media platform . Then encounters massive push-back, then discovers how fraudulent the entire system is. Elon keeps going down the rabbit hole of causes and has narrowed it down to our government failures and excesses. The people who align against him, including former friends and allies all seem to hold the same trait as being partisan Democrat elites.  But there’s no sense in being Republican – whatever that is.

That all he has to do is promote free speech and politely disagree with some of the more absurd conceits of Democrats strongly indicates that it is more than a Party rivalry fight, it’s ideological. War on words and concepts. Thought police stuff.

X is a significant media coup, not by the ‘right’, but for sanity.

Musk also says he’s working on an AI application that will go through those thousand-page bills and summarize them.

I wonder if it would be able to catch the things like “this law applies to companies that have X number of employees and located in whatever place…” that amount to laws meant to apply only to certain businesses?  Or to exclude certain other businesses? And then identify the businesses?  Such as that California minimum-wage law purportedly crafted to exempt Newsom-supporter Panera Bread?

Musk would make an excellent SecTreas, but he would never take the job. He can do more good freelance. Maybe a protege… does he have protegies? He can’t do it all himself.

I heard on a podcast that the illegal aliens in NYC housed in hotel rooms get the rooms paid for ($200+/night).  In addition, they get a nice allowance for food and other incidentals.  I wonder how American workers at the lower end of the economic scale feel about being turned into chumps by the Democrats . . .

Yes. But we should never forget that serious prevention of illegal immigration involves a whole spectrum of polices, most of which have to do with detecting and deporting illegals who have gotten past the border. This used to work quite well. The only reason it does not work today is that so many of the ruling class don’t want it to work. This is a clue as to whether or not the ruling class feels any moral obligations to ordinary citizens.

They’ve been chumps to the Democrats for a long, long time, it’s just becoming more obvious now.  So obvious that even some of the chumps finally see it.

The lower end of the economic scale has its share of Democrats.

They have been carefully instructed that everyone who is needy has the right to come to the USA “Give us your poor, your tired…”

Of course the above inscription, Lazarus’ words written in a different era, say nothing about bankrupting entire state budgets for the sake of feeding, housing, and offering free medical care as well as free college tuition for the new arrivals. With the burden of meeting these expenses being met mostly by America’s underclass, in the form of the hidden tax of inflation.

City of Denver officials are  now considering cutting back on “on call” employee work commitments, demonstrating that  not only must the tax payer pay the state to support the new arrivals, but jobs and services will become extinct due to the need to somehow balance the city budget.

One  example of lower class group think: My household adopted a dog that a working class retiree had posted about on FB. She mentioned how she could  not keep the dog as her rent was being increased so she had to move in with family members who had allergies.

When I got to her charming, pleasantly decorated home, I could not help but notice the placards posted along her garden path walkway and hanging on her door, all of them  indicating the woman’s support for immigrants.

I also could not help but notice how structurally shabby  were her living quarters. The wooden floors needed replacing. The windows also could have used a remodel. She was paying almost a 1,000 a month for 960 sq feet of space, as rent to a landlord who didn’t need to ever repair a thing, as the new arrivals would be grateful for simply having a roof over their head.

But she has been taught by the liberal hive mind that unless she is open to having open borders, then she lacks compassion and charity. So her need to hang on to what for her represents “true virtue” has brought about her inability to maintain her own home.

Change the poem to work in the fact that “live free” is not the same as “live FOR free.”
