Gomer Pyle: Call Your Office!

Double standard? What double standard? From Breitbart, “Report: Joe Biden to Escape Charges for Mishandling Classified Docs.” As the report this week euphemistically puts it:

Special Counsel Robert Hur, who is investigating President Joe Biden for mishandling documents, is not expected to charge anyone, sources familiar with the matter told CNN and the Wall Street Journal.

The report suggests a double standard of justice. While there will reportedly be no consequences for Biden, Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted former President Donald Trump in June for mishandling classified documents.

One might be excused for asking if this is a mere suggestion: how far do they have to go to finally qualify for “in-your-face, straight-up corruption?”

As others and I ask more and more lately, it is more and more of a legitimate question whether we can survive another year of this criminal enterprise.

Only Gomer would be surprised at this news; maybe he was a Democrat.

God Help us.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

    John Adams, call your office.

Excellent. Thank you for these words from Mr. Adams; I quote them often and, considering what we are immersed in these days, they always bring a tear to my eye. I guess he would be cancelled and run out of town today for uttering such heresies.

Or they would just state that they don’t want to be a moral/religious people any more, and therefore the Constitution must be replaced.

I’m going to (somewhat) disagree with is this recurring quote*: the Constitution was designed around the notion that people, by and large, are not as moral as we would like them to be.  This was repeatedly made explicit within the Federalist Papers, and is why our Constitution emphasizes limited government and the separation of powers (and is in fact almost unique among national constitutions in that in elevates this vital concept beyond token window dressing).  The fact that we are now a corrupt and degenerated society that has managed to override Constitutional safeguards does not mean, as this statement implies, that there are superior ways of preventing or operating within the cultural dystopia we live in; other systems would have simply accelerated the decades-long process, as was the case in Europe, and is why the Left spend so much time trying to corrupt and circumvent the Constitution, despite the risk that such tactics would expose their long march through the institutions in time to stop it.

If someone simply wants to make the case that we are well on the way toward destroying our Republic (along the lines that Ben Franklin warned us about), and that domination by an immoral and irreligious majority is the reason for this, and that we are likely incapable as a people of reversing the process in time to save the idea of ‘America’ without an almost unprecedented moral or religious Awakening , then have at it-in most respects, I agree with you….just don’t mischaracterize the Constitution while doing so.  I say this not only to defend the most important creation of the United States, but because its a misunderstanding that would negatively affect the success of anti-Left movements, as well as the long-term survival of any successes in that direction.

*I’m not trying to call anyone out, multiple people that I like and respect have been posting this quote; also, I greatly admire John Adams, but he is simply very very wrong in this instance.

See Mark Levin’s new book “The Democrat Party Hates America”– they are already there. We are one election away from losing our country. Anyone who thinks that is hyperbole needs to read that book. The American Marxist party now rules virtually every single institution in America. Wish I were wrong.

Haven’t the dems or libs or progressives or whatever you want to call them pretty much said that already?
