Some Things Are Important and Some Things Are Trivial
Today is my 85th Birthday. I just made the above comment on another post but it is what’s taking place in my life personally that tells me why I make such comments.
I started the morning with a Happy Birthday greeting from my wife followed by greeting my family’s latest addition, my nine month old great-granddaughter. Then I received texts from each of my three children with their personal Happy 85th Birthday greetings.
I can’t see them all today but we are all in touch almost daily. That’s family. That’s important.

Happy birthday Bob! My mothers maiden name was Thompson. The family history went back to Scotland.
Happy Birthday! I hope I make it as far as you have, and am still articulate when I get there. You’re an inspiration.
You don’t look a day over 84.
Enjoy the day!
Congrats on reaching an age when your GP is a paleontologist!
Oh, that’s good. I’m going to steal it.
Thank you!
Mine goes back to Scotland as well. Left Kilmartin, Argyll for Ulster in early 17th century, then to Carlisle Pa. a century later. My branch then went south settled near Morganton, NC, then on to Georgia after the War for Independence.
Wonder if there’s a connection. @davel
Thank you! I am grateful for that and thank the Lord every day.
Thank you!
Thank you! I like it.
Happy birthday, Bob!
Thank you!
Happy Birthday, Bob, and have many more to come.
I’m warning you, though, that I’m gaining on you and when my age is 0.99 of yours, that’s it. No more Happy Birthday wishes from me.
Thank you!

Happy Birthday, Bob! I beat you to the ripe old age of 85 last January.
You certainly are right about the importance of family; all four generations of mine are joining me this Sunday at The Home. For no particular reason, other than so we call all see how much each of us has change since May.
That is so sweet!
Happy birthday Bob!
Suddenly I don’t feel so old at 65…
Thank you!
Thank you!
Feliz cumpleanos y muchos mas!
Gracias!
