Every High Civilization Decays by Forgetting Obvious Things

Lesbian soccer star Megan Rapinoe attempting, unsuccessfully, to sell lingerie to women.

Victoria’s Secret just lost millions of dollars because they forgot that women like to look pretty.  This may seem like an obvious point to many, but the leaders of one of the world’s leading companies in the industry of ‘making women look pretty’ apparently forgot this timeless truth.  They were reminded of this obvious point when they lost millions of dollars, and have changed their focus from virtue signaling back to making women look pretty.

Budweiser just lost millions of dollars because they forgot that blue-collar men like beer, pretty women, and America.  These may seem like obvious points to many, but the leaders of one of the world’s leading companies in this industry apparently forgot this timeless truth.  They were reminded of this obvious point when they lost millions of dollars, and have since changed their focus from virtue signaling back to selling beer to men who like beer, pretty women, and America.

Our military is having trouble recruiting because they forgot that men who love America are eager to defend her, but over-educated trans-gendered abortion-seeking drag queen atheist urbanites tend to interested in other things.  When our military made it clear that conservatives and others who love America – those who are willing to kill or die for America – are no longer welcome in today’s military, it began having serious problems with recruiting.  We’ll see if the leaders of our military are reminded of this timeless truth in time.

The world is going crazy.  North Korea, Afghanistan, Ukraine, China, Iran, Russia, Israel, and many other countries have noted the sudden instability created by America’s apparent inability to recall that without a strong military, it doesn’t matter how many drag queens get government-funded abortions in their home state.

The leadership of Victoria’s Secret and Budweiser recognized their mistakes, and are attempting to correct them.  The recovery of those companies is far from certain.

Will the leadership of America recognize their mistakes in time to correct them?  Will America be able to recover from the insanity of the past 5-10 years?  That is far from certain.

Some mistakes, you don’t get to make twice.

Note:  The title of this post is not mine – it is a famous quote from Chesterton.  In case you forgot.

Quibble: A small niche company can totally turn a profit making products for a small market (e.g. the subset of women who do not want to look pretty). The mistake is when major corporations pivot in that direction, thinking that it will increase their sale rather than turning them into a small niche company.

Megan Rapinoe has the safety of being no longer a participant in the sport that made her rich and famous, when it gets ruined by “trans women” being involved. No risk to HER in arguing that women like Riley Gaines should have to compete against biological men.

They don’t seem to have any reason to fear for their self-preservation. It’s a different “market” than commerce.

A large company *might* be able to do this successfully IF they set up a separate division for the niche product and market it under a different name and with separate distribution channels.

They better not expect to do so real soon, it’ll take a while for those white male heterosexuals to get through basic training etc.

Very successful company making large profits selling to a large segment of the American population.

Woke management:  but my college professors and people on twitter say they want inclusivity and we are too (fratty, exploitive of women), so we must appeal to the 10% of people who are on social media to expand our product base.

Large customer segment:  Are you saying that you no longer want us as customers?  Because your new campaigns are offensively stupid.

10% Twits:  What?  We have no plans to actually buy your products. But great campaigns!

    Result = massive money loss

FWIW my son is an instructor now in the Army Special Forces community and at the tactical level they still strongly represent men that like beer, pretty women, and America.  And will fight for America.  Nevertheless the umbrella they are under is cracking under the weight of woke-ism.

Yeah, I’ve been following the continuing efforts to bring women into the SOF part of our military.  I almost coughed up my lunch when I read the following post in the Army Times:

    https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-military/2023/10/20/us-military-has-more-work-to-do-integrating-women-report-finds/

So, the U.S. Army is now following the UN recommendations which developed the “Women, peace and security” concept?  The UN?  The U#%&@ingN?

I can readily understand your son’s position in this ongoing trainwreck but it doesn’t seem to be letting up.  Please read the next to last paragraph in the article:

“The report recommends that DoD continue to bring women along when developing or executing missions or policies, both within the U.S. military and when working with partner nations.”

Did I read this correctly?  Bring women along?  Maybe in air-conditioned vans? The Air Force will sometimes put a “comfort pallet” on transports for long sorties (in lieu of the 2″ tube we usually had on the C-130s).  Should the special ops troops be prepared to use equipment such as this?

This argument has been going on since the Army instituted coed BCT.  Since then, the women-in-combat argument has only picked up steam.

So, the only thing I can suggest is that nasty-faced women such as Megan Rapinoe be given their chance.  Give them their Ranger Tabs, put them into combat and let them have at it.

The point of the Left is to ensure that we forget obvious things—by forced “re-education” preferably, as Hillary pointed out. That would be the quickest way to civilizational destruction, not just decay, as Mao demonstrated.

So what we are experiencing is a forced civilizational suicide rather than decay. Even the incredible Chesterton could not quite envision that the West would choose suicide, or have it forced upon us from within.

Our elites would be happy to rule as a Weimar regime under the tutelage of a Xi, as they could enjoy the perks of power of a sort without having to take responsibility for anything—which is essentially what our government does now anyway.

Well, it is sort of an offer we can’t refuse:  Commit suicide, or we’ll (the Left) do it for you and it will be far more painful and prolonged if you make us have to do it. Sort of like Hitler “allowing” Rommel to take cyanide.
