Last Three Whitmer Kidnap Defendants Found Innocent

The remaining three defendants in the farcical plot to kidnap Gov. Whitmer were found innocent today in the Antrim County Courthouse. JoAnne Huls, the chief of staff to Governor Whitmer, issued the following statement in response to the verdicts:

“Today’s verdict is disappointing,” Huls said. “A not guilty verdict on the plot to kidnap and kill Governor Whitmer in hopes of starting a civil war will further encourage and embolden radical extremists trying to sow discord and harm public officials or law enforcement.”

Nothing about respecting the process, instead an assertion that innocence or guilt does not matter.  What matters is sending a message to other unemployed vacuum cleaner repair guys who need to know who is in charge in the USA.

Every stage of the kidnap plot involved the FBI-connected individuals.  One of the three defendants freed today testified that he thought an informant was the real leader and not the convicted nominal leader Adam Fox (16 years). Their testimony and the evidence all paint a picture of a bunch of kinda dumb, drifty, and easily led fellows rather than dangerous, cunning ideological zealots.  Some of the haircuts alone should have been a tipoff. The idea that any of this would have reached even the preparatory bogus surveillance stage without a nudge from the bureau’s finest always struck me as a stretch.

I wonder if Gov. Whitmer was upset that the FBI plotted to have her kidnapped.

Honestly, she should be.  I think that a substantial portion of “terrorist” crimes are botched entrapment schemes.  Some agent lost track of his target.

Nah, she was part of the plan, maybe even the instigator.  It helped her politically.  And any consultant could foresee that.

I have read reports that, in fact, she was well aware in advance of this FBI-originated kidnapping plot.

Need to dig those up again.

When I read this, I though it was farce, like the Babylon Bee.

She seems like a drama queen to me.   I am sure she loves the attention as it fits her political career ambitions.

Every Gov organization need to justify their existence and budgets, even if they have to drum up “the business” themselves.

An alleged insurrectionist cell that had never so much as organized a picnic suddenly plots a major league undertaking only after being infiltrated…

Oh, there’s quite a story here about how the FBI organized this whole thing, and even when the stooges they were trying to set up were hesitant, they pressured and cajoled them to go forward with it. It’s been the FBI’s plot all along. I know that the legacy media won’t touch it, but it’s been well-covered and extensively so in many other outlets.

Lots of stuff at American Greatness and Revolver about it. Julie Kelly and Darren Beattie are both excellent sources for this story.

So, you find a group of lonesome losers, amateurs really and then someone appears that they have never met that will move things along for a grand stupid and futile gesture.

The problem becomes that the new person in the group is doing the planning and will provide the losers with what they need to accomplish the plan.

What the FBI lacks is a brake pedal. Someone at the FBI has to speak up and say this is not a good plan. We appear to be complicit in making something happen that might not have happened without our involvement. It appears that 12 jurors hit the brakes.

If the FBI turned a bunch of minority street punk kids into a major drug enterprise, there might be some outcry from civil libertarians and the kneejerk left but there is no love for marginalized white guys.  The ultimate racist premise is that white people should always know better and always have agency.

They did this to Muslims when that was the zeitgeist.  And some lefties did speak out, but not many.

Well, and you know how lefty politicians and activists are always claiming they’ve gotten death threats? It’s part of the schtick.

Has anyone seen the movie The Contender? There’s a twist at the end I (at the time) didn’t see coming.

If it came out now it would be like current events (ho hum … what fresh hell is this?)

The title of the OP says the defendants were found innocent.

This raises a question. What is the difference between being found (declared?) not guilty and innocent.  Is there a legal distinction?
