Pollyanna Reports XII

Elijah gets his wish!

I started this series some time ago when I realized we — certainly I — sorely needed to be reminded of the bottomless amount of plain, simple goodness in this battered, bruised, and damaged nation of ours. Looking back on the time I started doing these “feel good” reports, if I thought things were bad enough then, several months ago, they are exponentially worse today as we are immersed daily in more and more solid evidence that the “First Family” is actually just a latter-day version of the Corleones. So, here is today’s bit of good news- trigger warning (the good kind!): you might feel a distinct sensation of your eyes watering up, and it won’t be from climate change.

Make-A-Wish Nebraska on Instagram: “In honor of #nationalloveyourpetday, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the positive impact pets have on wish kids! ✨ Eleven-year-old Elijah, who is battling a brain tumor, wished to have a puppy. Elijah has always dreamed of having a puppy and he knew exactly the type of dog he wanted – a black, brown and white corgi puppy. He even had a name picked out, Tucker! We’re excited to share that Elijah’s wish came true this past weekend when his Wish Granters surprised him and introduced him to his new furry friend, Tucker!! Watch the video above for the moment Elijah met his furever friend! 💙🐕”

AUGUST 18, 2023

God Bless such organizations as Make A Wish Foundation for giving children like Elijah such unalloyed, pure joy and happiness!

And may God help Elijah survive this life-threatening tumor and grant him a good and full life.

I have one! Although I must admit there are times I would be glad to drive him over to you for a nice, long visit! They don’t call them Boston Terrors for nothing! Meet Winston:

I’m so glad you liked this touching story… I have just felt an overwhelming sensation lately of wondering whether we can survive 18 months of this criminality and bad news and I’m going to try to do more Pollyanna Reports and less “Breaking News”, because it is all “Breaking Bad”! All the best, Jim
