Is This Hockey?
I watched a hockey game and noticed something. Sweden and Lavtia were squaring off with no social messages. No ribbons sown to their jerseys. No pink helmet stickers. No “Stop Hate” on their backs, but — this is really strange — just their names. What is up with that? I mean, I didn’t even see a rainbow flag (should “rainbow” be capitalized?) anywhere on or near the ice. Not even a tiny BLM flag in the crowd.
We’re talking Sweden here! A country known for its champion bikini team, Nobel prizes, and meatballs. I’m so confused.
But check this out: on two of the corners, outside the glass, were two platformed automobiles — Skodas. One was a station wagon — who does that? And both were gas models! The nerve.
What gives? Here in the USA and UK, we must suffer multi-colored hair, nose-pierced idiots wearing extra big crotched bikinis. It doesn’t seem fair.
Here’s Bud Light in your eye.

Yeah. It is annoying.
Our country seems to be the source of the depraved rot in the world. We’re exporting it.
I think that we’ve been exporting immorality since the 1960s, if not earlier. It didn’t used to be depravity, for the most part, though it was still bad.
The Swedes are hardly traditionalists. So why aren’t things so bad in Sweden? What do we have that they don’t have?
The US Men’s Team plays on Saturday in the semi-final against Germany. It looks like the only advertising allowed on the jersey was Skoda.
Yep. I was a little surprised to see Latvia beat the Swedes. Gotta think Canada will win that semifinal.
Perhaps you should read some reports out of Malmö, Stockholm, etc., before you say things aren’t so bad in Sweden. Unless you merely mean things like LGBTAAIXYZ- EIEIO.
Hey, if the ads on the dasher boards aren’t flashing and rolling every 3 seconds why would one even attempt to watch?
I know, the fans really like them. According to Bettmann.
In the last two years, I have spent almost 6 months in Sweden working. They didn’t fall for the COVID foolishness. They do have quite a few electric vehicles on the road, they like station wagons, and they have had some immigrant issues but on the whole they seem to be sane.
I thought Sweden was the woke capital of Europe! They were importing primitive people to rape their bikini babes before even Germany.
I guess when you’re number one you can relax a little.
From what I’ve read of Sweden, there is some social media censorship if you say some obvious things about immigration and what’s going on in some neighborhoods in Malmo, and like the UK, you could get a visit by the police, but actually they’ve become more conservative in the last 20 years or so.
As mentioned in a previous comment on this thread, they didn’t go insane over Covid, and they actually dismantled their more egregious cradle to grave socialist policies they were famous for in the 1970’s.
If you live there, you are still going to be taxed – you’ll pay half your income to the government even if you’re in the middle class. But their government is more efficient, so you’re not paying for the same efficiencies as you are in the U.S., when you pay your taxes here. It comes with having roughly the same population of Ohio, but not having an overbearing central government telling you what to do.
And Sweden is not a member of the EU, though they are a member of the older, still existent EEC, and it’s why you don’t go through customs if you are traveling there from an EU country. Even there, they’ve avoided that overbearing central government.
