Make America Anti-Weasel

The so-called “dirty 51” who signed the absurd letter declaring the Hunter Biden laptop bore the earmarks of Russian disinformation should be stripped of security clearance and barred from any future policy-related positions.  History tells us that integrity in intelligence services is absolutely vital.  Weasels who seek favor or advancement by telling those in power what they want to hear do the country a grave disservice and should face sanctions because it is always disastrous:

  • Cuban invasion plans? We are good to go, boss. The anti-Castro elements are fully operational.  The regime will fold like a cheap suit when the invasion begins.
  • The local support for the Viet Cong is paper thin. You are correct that a war of general attrition with lots of aerial bombardment is just the ticket.
  • It’s a slam dunk, sir. Saddam’s WMD development is now way ahead of where it was when we went in back in 1990.

First, those 51 guys (plus the additional nine unnamed super secret spooks and the execrable Mr. Blinken) prostituted their professional credentials to execute a partisan stunt and intentionally mislead the American voting public. Second, they made no attempt to examine or verify the materials and yet opined as if they had acquired enough information and analysis to make a professional judgment. Third, they have stuck to the brazen weasel position that if the Russians were to have done something it could have been similar to this actual scandal, therefore they did not really lie.

The Dirty 51 would have happily endorsed the Bay of Pigs plan right up until the moment Brigade 2506 was overwhelmed.

There is much to do to drain the swamp in DC. Still, it should not be impossible to sanction overt lying such as the Biden Administration’s monthly jobs report (always way too positive and then quietly corrected two weeks later), and virtually everything promulgated in support of the federal Covid policy disaster.  If we are asked to rely on the alleged expertise of an agency and that reliance is abused or betrayed, it should be treated as a form of malpractice with serious sanctions.

Decades ago, Senator William Proxmire used to issue a Golden Fleece Award for instances of wasteful spending.  The award had a significant PR effect.  [The competition today would be vastly tougher with many, many potential winners.]  I see no reason not to create an analogous award for disgraceful lying by integrity-free bureaucrats and try to remind the rest that somebody is watching. Somebody needs to throw a few punches in defense of integrity even if it is only a rear-guard action so long as a Democrat is in the White House. When integrity no longer matters, democracy dies.

Hmm, sounds like “Impeach.  Remove.  Bar from office.”

I wonder, if we had a good/honest/patriotic FBI, would they neutralize the corrupt CIA?

Way back when, it was the FBI comprised of guys from blue-collar families, graduates of public or religiously -affiliated colleges –not the ivies that comprised the morally empty CIA guys from the ivy leagues (e.g., Alger Hiss and his fans) and the tolerance or affection for Communism.  No more.

The media will never report on the award if the Dems are in power.

If all of the weasels in the world disappeared overnight, Washington would disappear with them.

Want to make them hurt? Suspend the security clearance of everyone when they leave their government job. That’s not intended to interfere with the revolving door – it’s easy to reactivate the clearance of anyone who actually has a “need to know.” An MSNBC analyst does not have a need to know any classified material.

They committed a conspiracy to interfere with the 2020 election. Is that treasonous? I don’t know. But it is exactly what they tried to frame Trump for doing in 2016.

Add Russian Collusion/Steele Dossier, the war on Parents in PTA meetings, the war on conservative Catholics and the history of how J Edgar Hoover use of blackmail to keep his position.

A word in defense of J. Edgar: he might have been twisted, but he kept these bubbleheads out of the top slot.

The left always accuse us of what they’re actually doing.  Part of their cover and their plan.  Sadly, too often it works because People Dumb.

Exactly!  This is important.  The default should be to rescind all clearances for everyone.  Reinstate for specific, quantified reasons, with the sitting President able to reinstate as he sees fit.  Events of the past decade put the spotlight on the abuse of this privelege.  Separately, but related, strengthen the hurdles for classification standards, so as to reduce the over-classification of documents.  This should include instituting improved standards, and perishability of the assignment.

As far as I know a security clearance is useless outside of government without an entity that employs you and can hold security clearances – that is have a contract with the government that requires access to classified information. I doubt that any media companies can hold classified credentials.
