The Beating Heart of Freedom

I think guns change everything.

A woman who does not carry a gun is not able to defend themselves against deadly force. She knows it, and Bad Guys know it. As a result, a defenseless woman changes everything in relation to this knowledge: she walks differently, she talks differently, she perceives threats differently. Her entire mindset is altered based on whether or not she thinks she is independent and responsible, or whether she is instead a victim waiting to be assaulted, mugged, or raped.

This is why, even though very, very few people will ever use a gun in self-defense, guns are essential for our freedoms. A society that lacks legal civilian gun ownership must rely on the government for its salvation. But a gun-toting society stands up, takes responsibility for itself (and each person for others), and knows that victimhood is not something any free person should seek.

The Second Amendment is not merely one right among many. Carrying a gun is the beating heart of freedom.

    Actually, it’s more common than you’d expect . . .

Women should be able to more easily get a concealed carry license than dudes.

If 21 is the minimum age for men to get a license, how about lowering it to 18  for women and make it free.  Training standards should be the same.

Definitely don’t lower standards. Nothing good ever comes from lowering standards.

Small answer:  And whites more easily than blacks?  Let’s don’t get into this business.

Large answer: A license is an infringement.  The government should have no clue about whether or where most people have weapons.

How is this better than the government not infringing upon anybody’s rights?  What problem are you trying to solve?

It is especially necessary now because the government has decide to allow lawlessness.  It is no longer clear that the police force exists to protect law abiding citizens from harm.  In fact it may only exist in some cities to deal with the cleanup and fallout from illegal activity.   Our elites have decided that NOT being a victim is an example of white privilege and systemic racism.
