A (Quite Self-Serving) Book Recommendation

Well, it took me far longer to get around to this than it should have, but Charis Colony: The Landing is finally available on Nook, Kobo, PubShare, and Apple Books.

The story: Dr. Raj Mondal is falsely accused of aiding an escapee from the eugenic-totalitarian state his ancestor founded. Now, security enforcers are after him, his wife, and their unborn son. Can they escape the agents of Colonial Security? And was anything they were told about the rebels of McGuire Point true? Read it and find out.

The cover is by a young woman from the Netherlands named Kristina Hofstede.

Holy cow! This is you?? I’ll definitely look for it. It’s likely to be more foursquare a theology than I’d know in everyday life… but I’ll read it!

Thanks. I worked on it today. All week actually, as time has allowed. The word count right now is around 79,000.

Did you post an excerpt of the book here?

I remember some elements about genetic screening, and I remember it did not have the scientist / physician portrayed as evil, but the process was corrupted by someone with authority – honestly that felt more realistic.

Yup. Some while back. I will look for the excerpt.

Here is the link to the excerpt from an early draft of Chapter One:

    https://ricochet.com/526210/charis-colony-chapter-1/

That´s from quite a while ago. I altered several narrative elements from that draft in part on advice from the great and wise @arahant and Ed Smith of distant Ricochet memory. Oh, don´t worry. Ed´s still around and his Substack is very much worth reading for his historical research.

There are other excerpts of Charis Colony: The Landing and Charis Colony: The Southern Shore (still a WIP) on Ricochet for those who are interested.
