Food Fight!
Bobby Flay should watch his six… because I changed my mind. I’m pretty sure I’m the best at dinner.
I’m not saying I’m the best at dinner. I’m only saying that What about you? Do you cook good? Pics please! Recipes especially encouraged!
We’ll figure out what the winner gets once we decide who’s most ready to take on Bobby Flay.
Food Fight on!
Here is my mixed grill.
Mmmm. What’s your preparation style, Mr. C?
Is that shrimp Sam? Then I am definitely in. After the dog saw the beef pics she is into all of them. Keep them coming.
My bread game is on point. My only problem is finding people to eat it. It’s delicious but I’m surrounded by low carb folks.
It looks nice but I want to know what flavour the noodles are
Samuel hasn’t answered yet but I think I can tell from the picture: vanilla.
This thread really takes the brisket. Carry on.
Wood- fire pizza:
Gulf Coast oyster po-boy:
Ciabatta:
OK, enough – I’m getting hungry. Time to bake some 3-berry scones in my wood-fire oven:
I did a post a while back about doing steaks:

As I said in the post… I didn’t include pics because it would violate CoC regarding posting pornography.
Biriyani:
I am not good at cooking but my wife is an excellent cook and baker. So I will share a couple pictures of some desserts she has made.
Hazelnut Cake
Plum Tart
Mmmm, Huckleberry Cobbler.
That last one some of you may have eaten. Sarah made two pans of this at the Montana Ricochet Meetup a few years ago.
Was that your family wedding Zafar?
Just a bit of garlic salt.
When not happy with the offerings of local Chinese restaurants, DIY. Black Pepper Chicken – Omnivore’s Cookbook (omnivorescookbook.com)
Blackened (using my over-complicated seasoning) shrimp flavored!
Looks like a stiff competition. Only one way to settle this: I’ll have to make some rounds so you can all make me breads, deserts and dinners. I can’t think of any other fair arrangement…
Vietnamese beef stew
I’m feeling very inadequate here. I can make a nice martini, rum posset or bowl of wassail though if anyone gets thirsty 😂
Sign me up for martinis!
Ha! In spirit if not in detail, often. Indian weddings have this unwritten rule that at least one relative will behave appallingly, sometimes more than one.
(The picture is my mother’s 89th.)
89! She looks like a young lady of 60
You’d get on well with my wife of 38 years. She is a gifted quilter and possesses other skills, but cooking was never one of them. I was always improving the meals my mother made that I enjoyed and that evolved into a lifetime of cooking meals. That carried us through the thin years of raising kids when going out to eat was still a luxury.
Chicken Riggies. Very popular in Upstate NY:
I made a batch last night for a work function today. It filled two medium size catering trays. My coworkers polished off one of the trays, so I got to bring home the other one. Dinner is covered for me for a few days!
I can do the basics, just nothing to write home about. It’s partly the slightly unsettled way I’ve always lived, always going between two houses. Yeah let’s blame it on that
I’ll bring the chips and dip.
We’ll this settles it. Now that we have martinis plus chips and dip added, I think we’re ready to launch the first annual Ricochet Food Festival.
