The Silliness of Falsifying Business Records

The whole attempt to go after Trump for falsifying business records seems utterly silly to me. No one is mentioning that this was a series of payments to reimburse lawyer Michael Cohen for a sleazy but perfectly legal non-disclosure payment to Stormy Daniels.

The Trump Organization did not pay Stormy Daniels directly — it paid Michael Cohen. Plus Michael Cohen added his fee on top, which is also perfectly legitimate. After all, he negotiated the deal and carried the expense for a year. A payment to lawyer Michael Cohen, especially when he adds his own fee on top, should be for “legal services.”

Even if they had described it as “payment to hooker,” it still would not have been clear which hooker was being paid, the adult film star or the lawyer.

You should probably make that “prostitute” or “whore” rather than “hooker.”

Now I am just posting lawyer jokes.

What’s the difference between a prostitute and a lawyer?

A prostitute will stop screwing you after you’re dead.

The Madam opened the brothel door in New Orleans and saw a rather dignified, well-dressed, good-looking man in his late forties or early fifties.

—“May I help you sir”’ she asked.

—“I want to see Valerie, please,” the man replied.

—“Sir, Valerie is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else”, said the Madam.

—“No, Ma’am, I must see Valerie,” he replied with determination.

Just then, Valerie appeared and announced to the man. She charged $5,000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled out five thousand dollars from his wallet and gave them to Valerie, and they went upstairs. After an hour, the man left calmly.

The next evening, the well-dressed man appeared again, once more demanding to see Valerie. Valerie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row, as she was too expensive. There were no discounts. The price was still $5,000.

Again, the man pulled out the money, gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs. After an hour, he left.

The following night the man was there yet again. Everyone was astounded that he had come for a third consecutive night, but he paid Valerie and they went upstairs.

After their session, Valerie said to the distinguished customer, “No one has ever been with me three nights in a row. Where are you from?”

    —The man replied, “Wichita, Kansas”.

—“Really”, she said. “I have family in Wichita.”

—“I know.” the man said. “Your sister died, and I am her attorney. She asked me to give you your $15,000 inheritance.”

He did it at first without compensation, seems like Trump did repay him later but it took like a year or something.

This letter is the kind of stuff that will (or may already have) kill the case. Trump may have to go through all the harassment and humiliation of an arrest and booking, but this non-lawyer thinks the case will be thrown out of court. Which is why Bragg didn’t want to bring the case and only did it after one of his prosecutors resigned and wrote a book about it. When even a Soros DA doesn’t want to bring the case, you know it’s weak.

Does anything Trump do even matters?   NY police just arrest him and lock him up and have a trial in a few years after this whole thing is over.  I am sure they can get the police / law / attorney / judges and their citizens to support them.  That is all they need.

Why?  I have seen very little viel that the GOP is much of a Trump or MAGA fan.   A lock such as Trump being put away for a few years would be good for the Florida Governor.

    Smacking hand to forehead repeatedly.

This is something I had not heard.

When in the history of modern day political candidate corruption has anyone Ever Heard of someone being  hassled by the law for using their personal funds in a matter rather than campaign funds?

Now I can think of the thinking behind it – obviously a party has been harmed.

    Who has been harmed?

Donald J Trump has been harmed, for inflicting the monetary pain of whatever amounts of money that he personally paid for rather than have his campaign pay  the money.

If I was him, to underscore the ludicrous-ness of this whole matter, I would file criminal charges against myself and have the Fox news people or Tucker or  whoever there while doing the filing of them.

Trump statement: “Look – in order to make America Great, I monetarily harmed myself. I now realize how much of a crime that I have committed against myself, so I ask the court to decide what charges and sentencing I should face!”

And meanwhile, all the clients on all the videos filmed in a mansion on a certain small island remain safe and secure in their homes and businesses, knowing that no one in America’s “justice system” will ever be coming for them. (Even the individual or individuals among them who saw to it that the head of this sex trafficking circle was “suicided.”)

Exactly. DeSantis can either show himself to be a force pledging and acting on that pledge, that is,  to go against  the Swampiness Critters in a way that matters.

If he backs down, there will be actual consequences for doing that.

It would be different perhaps if it was a Fed matter. But a Fed court already had ruled years ago that this matter is not court worthy.

Plus the statute of limitations has already run out or is about to.
