Never Go Full Jen Rubin

Here it comes, the never-Trump crowd is starting to aim at DeSantis. This is who are afraid of. Having DeSantis on the stage with Burisma Joe will be their worst nightmare. DeSantis is young, smart, in command of facts, and confident. The contrast between him and Biden will be stark.

Here is the ironic thing — people are voting with their feet. They are migrating to Florida from the woke utopias of CA, NY, IL, and NJ. Most must love it.

What is ironic is their entire gig (The Bulwark, The Lincoln Project, Rubin, et al.) is dependent on Trump. If Trump loses, they will make the next one up as Trump.

Jennifer Rubin says to imagine if DeSantis did to America what he’s done to Fla. (so let’s do that) – twitchy.com

Even by then she was more to the left of Mickey Kaus. The title was good, Left Coast (Kaus in California) / Right Coast (Rubin in DC) but she didn’t live up to the other meaning for Right.

The podcast was pre Trump wasn’t it?

Too broad a brush, I think. You will find many “never Trumpers” who are enthusiastic about the upcoming DeSantis candidacy.

you might be correct – I was thinking more of the never Trumpers from who make their living given political commentary.

I believe it was. I listened mainly for Kaus. His views were interesting, She was always a bit a neo-con – she was complaining about Rand and Ron Paul back then.

Absolutely.  While I have a preference for the more sunny Republicans like Haley, Scott, Sununu and others, I have no problem with DeSantis and would walk door to door for him.

I read and watch The Bulwark alone with Ricochet, The Dispatch and NR.  There was a post today in The Bulwark which strongly points out that DeSantis and all other Republicans are not comparable to Trump.

I think it was Michael Anton who said that the totalitarian project of the left needed a leader ane because their bench is so incredibly weak, they made Trump their central figure.  Hating Trump rather than adoration of someone like Obama is their organizing principle.  it is why Trump has to be larger than life, the next Hitler, and the source of all evil.

It will be harder to do that to DeSantis but they will try–they will have to because their next nominee will again be awful.

I’m a little worried about a Biden-Desantis debate matchup. Remember Paul Ryan getting bulldozed in 2012? If Biden goes at Desantis the way he did Ryan, Desantis may lose it.

A lot of cognative decline since 2012. I don’t think there’s enough Adderall in the world to get Biden back up to where he was in 2012.

What I don’t get about Rubin is she doesn’t even make a half hearted pretense to be accurate in her attacks on DeSantis- especially in the AP African-American history controversy.

“Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post, who had evidently not bothered to look at the course curriculum in question, wrote of DeSantis, “He’s gone full-blown white supremacist,” claiming further, “The goal here is unmistakable: eradication of African American historical experience.””

The GOPe are only supporting RDS because they want him and DJT to split the MAGA vote so they can nominate a globalist Bushie like Nikki Haley.

None of it matters. No Republican will ever win the presidency so long as elections are decided by junk mail ballots.
