Jan 6 Commemoration

#4 son reports that he may be in trouble.

We had a small Jan 6 party in class. Drew an American flag on the whiteboard, some people wore MAGA hats, and we wrote, next to the American flag, “NATIONAL B-CAO DAY”, the name of the guy who was at the capital 2 years ago. The teacher blew a gasket. One guy also played the American national anthem when she walked in.

She apparently is going to seek detention or more formal disciplinary action against my kid. A kid who drew an American Flag on the whiteboard.

I hope and pray she does. Readers on Ricochet may not know it because of my unassuming and humble manner, but I love a good fight, especially the Good Fight. And I fight dirty. If given the excuse I will destroy this teacher, the school, and anyone who defends them. I’ll do it with vim and glee. And if my kid is expelled, it will be icing on the cake.

C’mon… PLEASE attack my kid!

    They were promoting “non-Western cultures”

You mean like that Asian culture known as Judaism? It’s also associated with a derivative Asian religion known as Christianity. Were they teaching those bits of Eastern culture? 😜

I’m sure they made a point of teaching the Golden Rule in Confucianism, small government in Daoism, admitting your mistakes in Confucianism, traditional gender roles in Confucianism, etc., etc., etc.

Yep. And someone more knowledgeable would spout out 15 other facts about Buddhism and Hinduism, and of course they wouldn’t be teaching that either.

What grade? Sounds like fun, and can you really get in trouble for drawing an American flag . . . in America?

A friend of mine told me that his daughter was told not to wear a T-shirt at school, because it had an American flag on it and it might trigger minorities.

But then again, that wasn’t in America – that was Massachusetts.

    Here.

    No flag, no foul.

Then I suppose this should trigger somebody:
