November Snow

These early November snows aren’t unusual for us. This was Wednesday, November 2.

The dawn sky the following morning was stunning. Unfortunately, the power had been out since right after lunch the previous day. We were so thankful when it blinked back on around dinner time on Thursday.

Wonderful!!!   Here in NJ we are having an unusual warm spell.   The lovely Mrs E and I worked all day in shirtsleeves raking leaves.   Tomorrow’s NYC marathon will be one the warmest ever   One of my workmates from the UK is here in NYC to run the marathon.   We met up on Friday and she complained bitterly about the unseasonable warm conditions.   Frankly, I’m enjoying  it.

Gosh.  As is often the case here in SW PA, we’re up and down.  Have already had a few hard frosts, although nothing of importance in terms of ongoing ‘weather.’  78 today.  Prospectively, 63 tonight.  Strong possibility of (welcome) rain.  Freezing night temperatures may resume mid-month, although daily temperatures for the foreseeable future obtain in the foreseeable forecast.

    Beautiful!

Here’s our backyard this morning after a windstorm last night.  We didn’t lose power, but the lights did flicker.

I love the way the sky was captured so that  the patch of blue was like God’s eye peaking down.

    Really beautiful.

It’s supposed to continue “unseasonably warm” tomorrow here in Maine…and then get colder on election day. I’m thinking I’ll go for a swim tomorrow. That way I can brag that I jumped into the lake in November…and people will think I’m a sexagenarian badass.

Temps are supposed to drop to perhaps sub-zero this coming week, and I heard a rumor about more snow. I’d love a warm, sunny day!
