Photos from a DeSantis Rally

So I gave myself the assignment of doing a photo story on the rally that Ron DeSantis held in my town today, and the angle I chose was how all our events these days are filtered through the lens of social media.

If a tree falls in a forest and it’s not live-streamed on Facebook, did it really happen?

Looks like he is drawing a crowd, too.

Not political rally, but in a video of a pop music concert I was struck by what a large percentage of the audience was holding up phones, presumably either recording or live-streaming what was going on on stage. Not just enjoying the concert experience for itself. I also note how many girls and young women wear heavy makeup much of the time so they look good in their social media posts. Of course many in my generation (I’m 66 years old) saw their children’s experiences in the 1980s and 1990s only through the viewfinder of a video camera.
