‘Laptop From Hell’: 644 Pages, 459 Alleged Crimes

What are the odds Hunter Biden will be prosecuted for a single one of them?

Among those whose writings I try to read every time I see their byline — Roger Kimball, Victor Davis Hanson, Michael Anton, Molly Hemingway, for example — one of those whose work I admire greatly is Miranda Devine of the New York Post, who wrote the first account of Hunter’s laptop, infamously suppressed by Big Tech.

She has a story out this morning about a massive report on the “treasure trove” of criminality contained in the “laptop from hell,” which she describes as follows:

Right-wing nonprofit research group Marco Polo finally has published its Hunter Biden laptop opus, a thorough forensic examination of every document on the first son’s notorious MacBook computer that he abandoned in a Delaware repair shop in April 2019.

The 634-page report (plus 2,020 footnotes) lists six alleged crimes committed by Joe Biden – including tax evasion and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) – alongside 459 crimes it alleges were committed by Hunter, including illegal foreign lobbying and money laundering.

Her brief column on this significant report can be found here; the report itself can be found here, in the event you’re searching for a “long (very!) read” for the weekend. As I have just seen the article, I note I have only scanned the first part of the report (Background-Motive, Timeline, The Four Families) and, based on that brief review, I can state it is overwhelmingly thorough and comprehensive.

Here is the gist of what I had planned to write some time ago about this most tawdry and sickening blight on our history; words that seem incredibly prescient now in view of this report:

What are the odds? Taking bets! Who thinks the Feds will actually charge just the charges he provably committed? Here’s another one: what about “The Big Guy”, the actual head of The Biden Crime Family? Will the Republicans impeach the most corrupt President in American history when they return to power? You would have to be Pollyanna to really believe that!

Here, as we consider these imponderables, it is appropriate to reflect on the immortal and beautiful words inscribed above the Main Entrance to the Great Hall of the United States Supreme Court and ask whether they have any real meaning anymore:

Equal Justice Under Law? . . . Well . . . Just How Much Justice Can You ...

I have to believe we will return to our foundational doctrines; the only alternative is to admit to oneself that this greatest experiment in government of the people, for the people and by the people is a failure. While I’m not ready to believe that (yet), it is clear that we must stop the far-far-left, Socialist, Marxist Democrats before they succeed in destroying our beloved Nation.

Will they indict Hunter Biden on even a single one of those 459 alleged (have to use that word to keep the black helicopters off of the front lawn!) crimes?

Your thoughts?

God Bless America!

    Heh heh. Good one.

I assume this is a rhetorical question, to which we know the answer is “of course not.” Nor will Biden ever be indicted on the six crimes they have on him.

Because we no longer live in a country where there is equal justice under the law.

(We don’t even live in a representative Democracy anymore. The entire country is controlled by a shadowy cabal of intelligence agency figures.)

Paul Fussell noted that 3 of those 4 words are redundant.

It merely needs to say, “JUSTICE”.

I would bet the DOJ will charge Hunter with Income Tax and FARA related crimes and Hunty will plead to some slap on the wrist, which the MSM will then pooh pooh and pretend like all the BigGuy/BagmanHunter/UnderBossUncleJimmy actual corruption/foreign influence peddling crimes never happened and make the great proclamation that the Biden Crime Family was absolved of any of those actual crimes which would implicate the Big Guy.

No, nothing will come of it. The story has been fully digested by the media gatekeepers. At first it was Russian disinformation – I mean, obviously; the idea that a habitual drug user would do shady things, behave sloppily when it came to obscuring his tracks, then lose the laptop, well, it beggars belief. Privately, I’m sure many in the media believed that it was entirely within the realm of possibility that Biden fils had leveraged the connective implications of his last name to shake money out of credulous Chinese, but A) happens now and then, B) the Chinese probably got taken, C) the deals would have happened anyway, and most important D) the story was dreadfully inconvenient when the real objective was Saving Our Democracy. If necessary, Hunter could be fed to the wolves later. And by “fed” I mean they’d get to snack on a few cuticle shavings.

There was also, I’m sure, a sense that Biden had suffered enough, son-wise, and a man of his manifest decency should not be put through anything personal again. Hunter may have erred, but Joe’s done so much for the country; call it a draw.

As for the ten percent for the Big Guy, these were phonemes the progressive ear turned into a dial tone. If you repeated them loudly enough, you would get a different take: okay, well, Joe Biden is lots of things – a prevaricator, a jerk, a fabulist with an unearned sense of his own intellectual heft, a lightweight joke compared to the nimble and wide-ranging intellect of Barack Obama, but he’s not corrupt. He’s too dumb to be corrupt, if you want to be honest.

The eventual conclusion of our betters: Hunter Biden isn’t an elected official – a curious shield against criminal prosecution – and look at all the stuff the Trump kids did. They got away with it, so it’s a wash. And if Joe got ten percent for something while he was between the Veep and the POTUS gigs, so what.

The phrase “Biden Crime Family” makes it easy for the media to dismiss the whole thing, because it brings up images of the Gottis or other Mafia organizations, and I think it’s a mistake to use it. The alternatives are less punchy – influence peddling, kickbacks – but they use the language of Beltway Scandal as the media have defined them. If nothing else, using these terms, throwing them in their faces, shows how they’re not interested in their traditional hobbyhorses because they will forgive everything that was done to remove the great threat to Our Democracy. Everything.

My complaint of the media was not covering this while Biden was VP

Hunter’s partner in this influence peddling was Chris Heinz, the step-son of John Kerry

So you had relatives the Sec of State and VP teaming up for this enterpise

I think the meme of Crime Family works perfectly with  the Bidens given the criminals are family, and the notion of the Crime Boss having actual power and using his underlings to criminally act upon the Boss’s power to enrich the family all the while shielding the Boss from culpability.

Just watch, just like an actual Mafia crime family, Capo /Bagman Hunter will take the fall (probably a very choreographed (D)/MSM produced theatrical “fall”) for the Biden family influence peddling under the guise of Income Tax and FARA violations to protect the Boss (and the loot) and placate the public that justice was done.

Once the Capo Hunter is dealt “justice” the corrupted MSM can pretend this issue has been dealt with and we can move on and not talk about “old news”anymore.

Hunter Biden is the American version of Uday/Qusay. Untouchable.

Though no one seems to mention it, Hunter’s dealings with a Chinese government controlled energy company may have something quite directly to do with Joe selling our petroleum reserve oil to China.

The fact that only Ron Johnson (with a little very tepid help from his colleague from Iowa) seems to be interested in Hunter’s and the Biden family’s corruption, speaks volumes about our ruling class. Where is Mitch calling for investigations? Crickets. Where is McCarthy calling for investigations? More crickets. Where is any Republican candidate for anything calling for investigations of the Biden’s?  Crickets and more crickets. No one seems to want to discuss this very obvious corruption and mother of all security threats. Our elites seem to be totally in the pocket of China. America apparently has been bought by the CCP. Our elites didn’t just sell the proverbial rope to China, they sold both their souls and our souls to that totalitarian regime. Many (Bill Gates, LeBron James, the NBA, many large corporations) have embraced this sale with great gusto, and doubled down on it. Many of the rest of us live in fear and trembling of the totalitarian purge that awaits. Apparently all of our elites think there will be no consequences for them. I suggest they meditate on the fate of Jack Ma.

The comment by @NanoceltTheContrarian aptly illustrates the reason I am uncomfortable with all this euphoria about the mid terms being the be all and end all to all our despair. I look around the landscape and see snakes like McConnell trying to elect one of the most detestable “Republicans” in the Senate in Alaska; I listen to McCarthy, the very definition of pusillanimity if there ever was one; I also see Ron Johnson as one of the very few–how many? 2 or 3?– voices of courage and outrage at the crimes of this Crime Family. I wait in vain for any — even the big, upcoming stars of the future– of the candidates to even tepidly broach the subject of the security threat of this loathsome group of grifters. Where are they? And to use a phrase that I know has been overused but it is one which best fits the moment– where is the outrage? As I said in a post I put on my blog (jimgeorge.substack.com–all welcome!) about the diesel shortage, we are 25 days from running out of diesel fuel and other than our colleague @rushbabe49 , Tucker Carlson, some energy publications and one or two scattered mentions in major online publications like Bloomberg, the silence is deafening, as if the motor of the country being brought to a stop (why does John Galt and Atlas Shrugged come to mind?) is really no big deal and we can rely on the brilliant, honest, competent, incorruptible elites in charge to get all this straight! Right!
