Comrade, You Have Been Subpoenaed

There appears to be some discontent in the former Socialist Workers Paradise. Comrade, you have been summoned to appear at the St. Petersburg police department. Bring winter clothing with you. From Radio Free Europe:

Seven lawmakers demanded parliament’s lower chamber, the State Duma, charge Putin with high treason over his decision to launch his unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

The seven lawmakers from St. Petersburg’s Smolny municipal district received subpoenas on September 8, ordering them to come to the police the next day to fill out protocols on a charge of discrediting Russia’s armed forces.

The discontent has also extended to some of Moscow’s municipal lawmakers:

Municipal deputies in the Moscow district of Lomonosovsky have appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to resign, saying “everything went wrong” since the start of his second term and they believe a change of power is necessary for the sake of the country.

The deputies posted their protocol decision on the Lomonosovsky district’s website, including a 30-minute video of their meeting on September 8.

In their appeal, the deputies emphasize that the aggressive rhetoric of Putin and his subordinates has thrown Russia back into the Cold War era. They disputed economic data showing a doubling of the country’s GDP and said the minimum wage did not increase to the level declared by the government.

They also said smart and hard-working people have left Russia en masse, and there is no trace of the promised stability.

Addressing Putin directly, they said: “Your views, your management model are hopelessly outdated and impede the development of Russia and its human potential.”

At the present time, there is no forwarding address for the dissident’s future homes.

I assumed from the subject header that this was a domestic story.

Ah the totally propaganda-free arm of the Western Society’s  most reliable news source: Radio Free Europe.

Under the spectacular management of George Soros and Klaus Scwab, since 2018.

There are some differences between Voice of America and Radio Free Europe. Radio Free Europe has local reporters that are embedded with Ukrainian forces, as well as local reporters throughout Eastern Europe. They are more reliable than the posers like The Duran, or the former US Navy Petty Officer who poses as a former US Navy Seal. The closest he got to a seal was at Marine World.

This is why we have a “speech and debate” clause in our constitution.  Members of Congress cannot be punished for something they say on the floor of Congress, and they have immunity to go to and from Congress.  We had an Arizona State Legislator who would drive in excess of 100 m.p.h. going to and from Phoenix.  It also allowed Harry Reid (“Thanks Nevada!) to slander Mitt Romney.

I’ve also seen a couple of reports since yesterday that the Moscow city center (which I presume includes Red Square) has been blocked off.  There are various reasons why Red Square has been blocked off now and then, but one of the YouTubers who reported on this jumped directly to the conclusion that Putin understands the form that revolutions have traditionally taken  in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and is trying to make sure one doesn’t happen now.  Could be, I suppose.

Putin is being assailed by two different factions. There are those who are not invested in the Great Slavic Brotherhood story, and those who do not believe he is doing enough in Ukraine.

The title of today’s War On The Rocks podcast is “Ukraine’s Kharkhiv Operation and the Russian Military’s Black Week,” a comparison to what the Germany military suffered in August 1918.

Victory in Sight? is the title of today’s “The Eastern Front” podcast.  The guest on this episode of this podcast is former US Army General Ben Hodges.

If the Ukrainian invasion collapses, Putin will be the one under examination in a courtroom or an autopsy suite.

You don’t think he’s already got a designated fall guy to take the blame?
