A Mighty Fine Rant

Ranty Amy Curtis gets her rant on. And it’s barn-burner…

Every single member of the Washington Generals of Punditry has betrayed every principle they claimed to have. On abortion. On taxes. On foreign policy. Every last one. And why? Because hating Trump is more important and lucrative than those principles. They have literally endorsed Democrats — including the barley sentient vegetable currently occupying the Oval Office — because of their unhinged hatred of Trump. And his voters.

And instead of trying to figure out how they got Trump in the first place — because they had a HUGE HAND in it — they double down on calling voters stupid and deplorable & a slew of other pejoratives because it gets them head pats from the media/left.Who still hate them anyway. [Emphasis Mine]

It is so much easier to dehumanize opponents as racist, deplorable, cultists than it is to meet them in the avenue of ideas and hear what they have to say. And the dehumanizing and gross name-calling of Trump supporters is simply NeverTrump adopting one of the left’s more disgusting habits as their own. Oh, and by the way, they still want the people they consider racist deplorable cultists to kneel down before them. “Cleanse the party of Trumpism,” as they say.

So if you want to get rid of Trump, stop obsessing over your hatred of him. Start endorsing Republican candidates who aren’t Trump. Instead of, you know, Democrats.

And for the love of God, spend ten minutes reflecting on how we got here today, and how you played a big part in it. Maybe talk to normal people outside the Beltway about life and politics.

I don’t know of a single Never-Trumper anywhere capable of the minimum amount of honesty and circumspection necessary to consider that Trump was the result of voters getting fed up with Bush-Republicans and their devious, deceptive, double-dealing policies.

I’m pretty sure barley is a grain, not a vegetable.

I had long thought of the Current Occupant as a vegetable, but until I read VTK’s post, never pictured him as barley, per se, as opposed to some other staple.

But I have to say, the similarity struck me immediately.

Even if barley were NOT a vegetable, I would still see a strong similarity.  Not just facially, but in terms of moral character and intellectual facility.

But I am quite certain that barley IS a vegetable, and I feel just as confident about Resident.

I would debate that Barley is a vegetable, but would both concede and endorse the comment that the current pResident is.

Barely Barley makes beer, and hard stuff when distilled. But that doesn’t seem to be the drug of choice for that family…

If you compare something to Biden,  you insult whatever you are using for a comparison.

I like and respect Barley and Vegetables.   I don’t like or respect Biden.    No need to insult Barley or Vegetables.

If anyone was curious about the line under the title: Andrew Sullivan compared circumcision to childhood sex-change surgeries, and was being roasted in hilarious but graphic manner in the previous comment section.  I suspect Ace was trying to eat.

I know many grass-roots, non-professional “never Trumpers” who recognize that Trump voters are a response to misdeeds and folly of the leaders of the Republican Party.

No apparently that’s not right. I know she’s got an account here, but it must have a different name.

Wait, I think it’s this one:

I did wonder. Thanks for the explanation.
