A Few Thoughts Regarding the FBI Raid of Donald Trump’s Home

I think this is a really, really big deal.  The party in power is using the power of the government they now control to destroy their political adversaries.  Oh my God.  This has my head spinning, a bit.  Here’s a few thoughts that have come to mind in the 10 minutes since I heard about the FBI raid:

  1. Oh my God.
  2. They didn’t raid the Clintons or the Bidens, despite their obvious criminal activities.  The Democrats in our government know that this is an obvious double standard, which will be quickly pointed out by many.  I find it terrifying that they don’t care.  They apparently feel that it no longer matters what anyone thinks.  As if elections don’t matter anymore.  I wonder if they’re right?
  3. This is an open threat to anyone who might consider criticizing a Democrat, anywhere.  We can destroy a President of the United States.  We can certainly destroy you.
  4. I suspect that popular support for Mr. Trump running for President again just jumped.  By a lot.
  5. I also suspect that the FBI knows that this will make Mr. Trump more popular and will broaden his support.  They wouldn’t do this, unless they thought they could control elections.
  6. It’s possible (although unlikely, I think) that Mr. Trump goaded the FBI into raiding his home somehow.  Appeared to withhold evidence, that he could later show that they already had, or something like that.  He may have wanted this showdown, to elevate his popular support.  Again, I doubt that, but I suppose it’s possible.
  7. I used to laugh at people who predicted that America would break up into two or more countries in the near future.  Then, I didn’t laugh, but I still thought that was insane.  Now, I see no other way to save something that is vaguely like America.  Lord help us.
  8. The problem is that that will never happen.  It’s just impossible, I think.  But once our government can select its own leaders, and persecute its political opponents, then that fundamentally changes the relationship between citizens and their government.  Once government has that much power, it cannot be changed except by force.  Which, again, I just cannot imagine happening.
  9. It will be interesting to see who defends Mr. Trump.  We’re about to learn a great deal about various Republican leaders.  I suspect that we won’t like what we learn.
  10. This is a really big deal.  Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God…

The new openly partisan FBI/DOJ is a shock.  The tradition in Washington has been that there is ALWAYS gentlemanly negotiation with the prominent target’s attorneys and NEVER a uniformed raid to seize documents.  There may be a motion to compel presented to a judge but never the kind of thuggery that has emerged in response to Trump’s associates and now Trump himself.

When Lawrence Walsh went after Caspar Weinberger 30 years ago, there was outrage and pushback from big law and the establishment.  You don’t criminalize this kind of thing and especially not against an establishment guy regardless of party affiliation.

Carter did not try to re-open Watergate nor did Clinton re-open Iran-Contra.  Bush ’43 did not go after the Clintons. Preserving the dignity of the office and taking advantage of the clean break that an election offers used to be the norm.

Biden is classless and has always been so.  A real president with a real attorney general would never have allowed this.  If there were documents that really matter, there are less confrontational ways to obtain or secure them.

Not only are the Democrats apparently intent on re-electing Donald Trump, they seem to want him to be in as lawless and vengeful mood as possible when he takes office, with the awful precedent of a weaponized federal government.

Disarm the FBI. Make them solely an information gathering organization. When they have enough evidence, they turn it over to state authorities – not the DOJ – for action . . .

We would be better off with the FBI and the DoJ eliminated.

    I’d add BATF . . .

Just for the feel good moment. Dan Bongino on Fox News. Doesn’t seem to embed. The link should work.

Most of Jesse Watters through Tucker’s guests were just outstanding analysis. The producers hit it out of the park with very little time to get ready.

Do you have a link to the whole show?

They post about 80% of the guests on each show on Fox News. I have no idea how they choose what they put on Fox News YouTube.

On the Fox News website you go straight to the TV part. You can also just Google the hosts name with Fox News.

Fox and friends was really good as well this morning..

This wouldn’t happen unless the deeply established Republicans didn’t wash their hands. The Bushes, Cheney’s and all their friends.

And let’s listen to what they have to say about this….

Any minute now  they will come out and make a statement….

Andy McCarthy points out that the rumored reason for the warrant (i.e., classified documents) is a pretext, and that the Feds were looking for anything that will criminally tie DJT to the 1/6 riot.

Heck, Cheney already made his statement.  I suspect that his “Ad of the Year” was part of the JIPOE, the (Joint) Intel Preparation of the Operational Environment, a current soundbite from a headline-grabbing source to ring in our ears while the deed is done.

Which makes this a fishing expedition and never should have happened. That it’s allowed to happen, to anyone, is a travesty of justice. We’ve been allowing this for decades and never should have.

Yup. The police should not be allowed to seize anything not listed in the warrant, even if it’s “evidence of a separate crime.”

Right.  Because this isn’t about supporting a court case.  No reason to preserve the validity of the evidence if that doesn’t matter.

I think the aim of everything Biden the Bully has done beginning with the Time magazine list of Democratic Party actions has been to destroy, once and for all, the Republican Party. Frankly, the mockery of conservatives and the Republican Party has been going on since at least the writing and production of The West Wing. The Trudeau-Davos movement has been gathering strength for a long time.

I think Trump knows this, and that’s why he has adamantly refused to establish a new party. He does not want to surrender.

We are close to hearings that ask, “Are you now or have you ever been a Republican?”

I think the arrests after the J6 protests and barbed wire around the Capitol constituted a turning point in world history.

Except, in world history the majority of the oppressed have not been armed.  In America today, there are more firearms and training among the conservative than among the Left.  In fact, the Left (except for government) has with determination, disarmed itself.  If we do, in fact, end up fighting our neighbors, they are lost.  As for the government, there are always more of us than there are of them.  Many lives may be lost, but we will triumph in the end.

As I said in another thread, I wouldn’t be surprised if the objective was everything in the safe, and oh hey look what we found. If CNN reports that Trump regularly disposed of documents he was supposed to keep, then the idea that the safe was some unholy Ark of the Covenant in which he kept his most personally incriminating documents seems absurd. Well, here’s the transcript of my conversation with Putin where we carve up Europe into spheres of influence; better put that in the really serious safe, where no one can get it.

Funny, ha, ha, but one Trump lawyer, and I believe, Eric Trump (?) said there was nothing in the safe. I heard the Trump lawyer say that on Denesh DeSouza’s podcast. Why have a safe and put nothing in it? But that is what she said.

It is estimated that there are over 400 million firearms in private hands, as well as over 2 trillion rounds of various ammunition. It wasn’t that long ago (Obama years) when Americans were purchasing enough firearms to outfit an Army division each month. The number bought per month has probably dropped some, but I think it will pick right up now.

It’s simple and I’ve been saying it since Biden stole the White House, (Biden is short for whoever actually runs things, other than the Chinese and Soros) The last honest election was the one that put Trump in the White House.  After the congressional elections are stolen, states with Republican governors and pieces of states that choose to, have to so what ever is necessary to form a new Republic.   We keep saying this can’t work, that the South tried it before, Texas moved in that direction etc.,  but in those cases they were removing themselves to deny freedom to a chunk of their population.  This is more like leaving GB to form free states.   It can be done and may have to be.   The big problem is that the military has to split.   Officers can choose the new free states or stay and may have to fight each other which would be crazy.   The more who join the free states the less  likely  a fight.  Those who leave will have stronger leadership and key bases are in free states.  Nothing has to be done other than signaling choices.  The objective is still to have a free elections in 2024, but unless we get organized, let the tyrants know their choices and inform the idiot democrats who don’t understand that what they’re doing has no future, even the tiny big bucks who think they’ll end up on top.  They won’t.  Even the Chinese won’t last long well past our demise, but their “free market” will decay as well.  None of these idiots seem to understand the complexity, the depth and extent of that complexity that made the US rich and dominant.  It can’t be sustained  even with the most brilliant talented minority running things top down and with the goons who take over it will evaporate more rapidly.  They think that if they can gather control at the top they’ll manage things.  Sure they can.  There must be an example some place at some time in history, right?
