Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Home Raided by FBI

Via Fox News.

Former President Trump on Monday said that his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida is “under siege” by a “large group” of FBI agents.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” Trump said. “It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections.”

“Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before,” Trump said, alleging that the FBI agents broke into his safe.

“What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?” he said. “Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.”

Multiple sources tell Fox News the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago is related to the materials Trump allegedly brought to his private residence after his presidency concluded. That matter was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration, which said it found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.

Per the CNN article, he was not home at the time.

I think they probably believe it. I suspect they are so deep in their bubble, so secure in their conviction, so faithful in their religion that they simply assume that of course they’ll find something sinister if they can just get in, of course it’s worth the huge gamble. Trump, after all, is both a monstrous egomaniacal mastermind and an embarrassingly gauche dullard: it’s obvious that he must have a sinister plan, and equally obvious that he doodles it on napkins and leaves it lying around at Mar-a-Lago when he goes out of town.

But what if he does have a sinister plan.  But means it for good?

Sadly, if you look at what they are doing and saying through the lens of perhaps they are trying to provoke a civil war, it all makes perfect sense.

They aren’t looking for a civil war. They want to promote an insurrection that they can crush quickly and use to disqualify people from seeking office, as an excuse to disarm the population, and maybe even for removing people already in office. They might get a civil war, but that isn’t their intention.

Pretty much what I’m saying anyway. Provoking an “insurrection” is what, just a civil battle? Which may lead to more provocation of the next layer of fed-up people who then act. Another battle. Enough battles and you have a war.

Disarming the population sounds pretty “warlike” to me.

I think your assessment of the outcome is correct. I am just saying that they don’t want the actual war part that would be their plan backfiring. They want something small and contained that they can spin into a pretext to crack down. I doubt the idea that it could spin out of control even crossed their minds. I am sure they will be shocked when it actually happens.

I’m agreeing with both the pros and the cons on this, because we really don’t know anything specific about their intentions, other than probably to indict Trump of something.  Even something trumped up, or planted.

And as for the civil war, I don’t think they want a war specifically, but probably acknowledge its possibility among themselves and think they are prepared o address it early, and willing to take that chance.

I think it’s coldly calculated evil.

I know, Drew. And some folk on the other side see only fascism and hate. I think the real explanations are usually less exciting, and less satisfying.

If you are right they all need to be fired. Not understanding that this is an explosive escalation is being criminally incompetent.

And in under two years of the Biden Conspiracy administration things do seem to be approaching tinder box proportions.  I think they just think they can handle anything.

I could blame stupidity or incompetence for maybe one or two instances.

Now that we’re into dozens and dozens of such instances, . . . evil and corrupt is the only explanation.

There’s a lot of ground between “coldly calculated evil” and “stupidity and incompetence.” There’s greed, pride, foolishness, ignorance, lust, and a bunch of other very human failings that lead to outcomes worse than people intend or expect.

    Not necessarily.  There’s incompetent evil.

I’m going with a mix, to include arrogance, laziness, stupidity, and corruption. If anyone at the FBI thought that they could get into an ex-President’s home without a microscope being placed on the entire process around the warrant, they may be corrupt, but they are also stupid.

Right? Except I’m saying that that was all factored in. So they’re not stupid. It was part of the calculation.

But they might have, quite likely have, calculated incorrectly.

Or it’s “We can do whatever we want, and there are no consequences.”

Yes. That’s it exactly. Rubbing our faces in it again. “We’re untouchable and we’re going to let you know it.”

    Humiliation is the point.

It’s everything.  And that’s why they can be arrogant and rubbing our faces in it, and yet scared to death at the alternative outcomes.  I mean, when you get into a life or death fight, nothing is off the table.

When have they ever lost? I don’t mean losing classified text messages on Jan. 6th that would exonerate the President, I mean, when have they ever had a setback? All is proceeding as they have foreseen.

    They want the twofer

    1. Destroy Trump out of vengeance and keep him from running in 2024.

    2. Create anger so we will protest, seed the protest with instigators, then swoop in and arrest many just for being there. If they get a Kent State moment, so much the better. Doin we are unhinged and must be disarmed.

Our reply – vote them out. Install a fighter. Clean house.

You’re right essentially.  But they lost in 2016, which begat Trump. which begat SCOTUS, which, Roberts notwithstanding, is basically a good thing.  Also Merrick Garland is not long term, as he would be on the court.  If they hold the house in November and win the Presidency in ’24, I’ll shift to Total Bleakness (TB).

Well, it’s a minor distinction, but continually backtracking and changing the direction of your story works, but it’s all contingency work, it’s not exactly planned.  The media covers a lot of mistakes.  And this all may be of no consequence, but Garland looked scared to (not quite) death at his presser.

It comes across as if it’s ice skating a very complex routine on thin ice.

I believe the media is stupid, which is why they’ve deployed 700 different explanations for the raid (including “Don’t you dare call it a raid!”) but I don’t think the FBI is stupid. I don’t think the DOJ is stupid. I think they have complete control of this situation. Emphasis on control.

Let me go full conspiracy theory.  I’m kind of coming around to the perspective that the Biden administration is roughly incompetent for their jobs.  Their jobs are upper management, and largely undoable, but they are supposed to manage and if able, to sell to the public all the fairly destructive changes they are mandating.  Their jobs are to sell it, not to do it.  Others in the administration and the legislature are the ones actually doing or enacting it.

But none of them are truly invested in the outcome.  I think they are more like the proverbial engineers and laborers who build the secret passages in the pyramids, and when their jobs were done their paydays were to be killed and sealed up in the tombs they created.  Jen pSaki, and Karen Jean-Pierre, and even Biden (should he live so long) and his family are more than likely detestable by the global elites.  But I’m just guessing.

Everything in government/politics is ironically named. For example, the Clean Air Act, is about how dirty the air can be. Military Intelligence is just a cliche.  The department of education doesnt educate. No justice from the department of justice… Its an overdose of Irony.
