What’s Good for the Goose, Is Good for the Gander, Right?

NYC Mayor/democrat politicians:  “Open borders! Open borders! This must be our policy.”

Texas Governor Abbott:  “The southern states are bearing the full burden of your idiotic policy. This is horrific.”

NYC Mayor/democrat politicians: “Shut up you racist bigot!”

Texas Governor Abbott: “You leave me no choice. The buses are headed your way.”

NYC Mayor Adams: “This is horrific”.

Texas Governor Abbott: “Only when you have to face the consequences. When it was Texas’ problem, you didn’t give a rip. “

Well, NYC, DC, etc., did proclaim themselves “sanctuary cities.”

I think that this is so great!  The people who are being let in have claimed asylum, and hearings have been set.  I believe that those hearings are in the state that they entered.  If they are in New York City, how do they get themselves back to Texas for the hearing?

This is an excellent post.  I hope it gets elevated to the Main Feed.

As for Arizona, we could simply bus folks over to California…

Oh Gary, our sweet summer child! You know that those illegal aliens have no intention of attending any hearings.

Yes and no.  Most of them “no show” in the hopes of an amnesty in the future.  But some do show up if they have an actual bona fide case.

“Our sweet summer child.”  I had to laugh at that.  You are great.  Thank you.

You have a point. I should have said, “…the vast majority of those illegal aliens…”.

I appreciate you taking the “sweet summer child” as the minor attempt at humor I intended.

Various local and state politicians here in Texas have made often-entertaining comments on this.

My favorite was one mayor (unfortunately I can’t find a link right now, but my recollection is the mayor is a Hispanic female) said something along the lines of, “New York, a city of ten million people and multi-billion dollar city budgets can’t deal with a few dozen migrants? Our city of 28,000 residents has to deal with hundreds of them a week within a municipal budget of $40 million.”

Several others have made statements along the lines of, “Welcome to what has been our daily issue for 18 months.”

Mrs. Tabby also thinks Washington and New York are getting a premium class of migrants, as being willing to get on a government bus for a two day journey is probably not the choice of the drug smugglers, the derelicts, and the sex traffickers.

Expanding on my comment above, a lot of Texans really take notice that New York and Washington, D.C. are being such whiny snivelers about having to deal with a tiny fraction of the consequences of a policy those New York and Washington big-wigs advocated and are willing to impose on southern border states. I don’t like spending taxpayer money on the buses, but until northern politicians experience the effect of their “open border” policy, they won’t appreciate the problems that policy creates for others. Personally, I think the buses should drop the migrants at the literal doorsteps of the politicians who think “open borders” is such a great idea.

Its all about the money. First words out of Eric Adams’ mouth were to request federal assistance. Like muscle memory.

I try to be a fair guy, but I think Delaware voters who supported this mediocre blowhard commander -in-thief should be punished somehow. A bus or 20 could terminate in the First State. Brandon Falls, maybe.

I was inaccurate.  Doug Ducey took Greg Abbott’s idea and started implementing it himself.  From MSNBC on May 13, 2022:

Much of the country has watched in disgust as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s ghastly publicity stunt of busing migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border to Washington unfolds. But one person has evidently looked on with glee: Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.

So much, in fact, that Ducey decided to copy Abbott and, starting this week, is sending migrants from his state’s southern border to the nation’s capital as well. Both stunts come at a time when conservatives are ramping up their anti-immigrant rhetoric and trying to spur right-wing fury toward asylum-seekers.

Why would they? Their first lesson upon entering America is that following legal procedure is optional.

So we can’t LEGALLY fill a cargo plane with them, fly over somewhere in southern Mexico and make them parachute out?

I’m known for my deep humanitarian values.

But let’s confiscate what’s in their wallets first, as a shipping and handling fee.
