A New Holodomor?

The government of Sri Lanka falls after an insane attempt to replace modern farming techniques with organic farming led to famine. The Netherlands is wracked with protests after the government plans by 2030 to reduce nitrous oxide emissions by 50%.

In Canada, the Trudeau government is moving forward with a plan to reduce emissions from fertilizer by 30% to help meet Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions targets. For most farmers, that means reducing fertilizer usage by 30%, which means lower crop yields, lower income for farm families and higher prices for families at the grocery store.

These rules will reverse Norman Borlaug’s Green Revolution, which helped feed a billion people. If implemented, they will result in widespread famine, which will topple more governments. Food shortages could easily lead to more wars. At a minimum, internal strife could lead to the destruction of more crops and exacerbate the famine. Just as government actions made the COVID-19 crisis far worse, these environmental measures may save the village by destroying it. The Biden administration’s insane goal of moving off fossil fuels rapidly has already led to economic crisis and misery. All of these measures must be resisted vigorously.

In the 1930s, Stalin’s minions seized grain from Ukraine and collectivized farming. Millions died in what has been called the Holodomor. The heirs of Stalin are employing different measures, but the result will be similar.

Famine is the number one reason in history that the elites get killed by the people.

You would think the elites would not court famine, but they are clearly stupid.

No, no, they’re good. They built walls to protect themselves. That always works.

The people supporting these policies seem to believe that catastrophic climate change will kill an enormous number of people if nothing is done, don’t they?

I don’t think that they’re correct about that, but it is what they seem to think.  Persuading them otherwise is very difficult.

And like the Holodomor, the Davos crowd will have the lackeys in corporate media covering up their sins – they might even get a Pulitzer for it

I don’t recall if it was P.J. O’Rourke or someone else who wrote that famines in the 20th century (and now the 21st) were not the result of nature.  Every one was created by government.

    Richard Easton: A New Holodomor?

    What is a holographic domor?

Clearly I’ve seen too much Star Trek.

That was PJ O’Rourke – he was writing about Somali at the time

Of course not. They don’t believe it at all. It is a means to power.

I don’t think that they’re correct about that, but it is what they seem to think. Persuading them otherwise is very difficult.

When you burn down a politician’s home, what does that do to his personal carbon footprint? Does that also include the private jet he uses to flee the country?

I’m pretty sure the people doing that, aren’t the ones supposedly concerned about carbon footprints.  :-)

That’s  because they are stupid. Or at least ignorant.
