Progretheus Unbound

I have no answer, but a question: What will happen when the Democrats lose control of the Progressive monster they have created?

The monster has several heads, including the pod-people infesting education, Obama’s army in the streets, the union of Party and media, the co-option of Big Tech by Big Government, and now the supremacy of a government-within-a-government, the “intel community.”

We see now the pinnacle of this development — a supine, ridiculous administration feebly figure-headed by a doddering fool, subject to zero ridicule by the state-controlled media, defended by Big Tech censorship (nope, no government censorship here, that’s all private sector, Bub!) — all in the service of a literal cabal, literally behind the scenes, literally insulated from Republic-style representation, accountability, or even identification.  The left has won — they are unassailable and, but for the widespread armament of millions of Americans, they would be omnipotent in this human sphere.  They control the horizontal and the vertical.

Which famous tragedy is this?  At the moment of supreme triumph, the winner’s own nature destroys him.  In a Greek tragedy, we might survive.  In a Shakespearean tragedy, I suppose we all die, which sounds about right.  It is not as though the failure of the Republican will leave the Republicans standing.

Democrats have summoned a demon and cackled as it mote the right, decency, justice, education, our language, culture, the Republic, elections, and the economy.  The demon will not go back into its box willingly, and the process to kill it has been pre-emptively slain.  Should a stolen election threaten to become un-stolen, a coalition of the intel community, the deep state, the Pentagon, Big Tech, the media, and a seemingly un-prosecutable Brownshirt mob will enforce the decision of the ruling cabal — there is no remedy this side of unthinkable (and certainly unprintable) preparations and response.

Decent people are in a pickle, and now so are the indecent.  Political violence being overlooked, then overseen, then flat-out sponsored by the government is the last stage of bread and circuses.  The demons of the Democrat party have fostered an addiction among their base to excitement, spectacle, and instant gratification.  Oh, and violence.  Don’t like speech?  Threaten the speaker, and if the government won’t shut him up, then the mob will.

War is coming.  It will not be started by the right — you could say that is has already been started by the left.  Is it any less a war if they only wage it in the streets, with fire and beatings, and during election seasons?

Nothing that any Republican has said — any — compares to the mob incitement of Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, and so on.  It only takes one person to set a house afire, no matter how many people live in it.

I believe you answered your own question.  War (Civil War) is indeed coming because the Progs/Dims/Greens are about to fall off the tiger they created.

Each time I hear the fools in Biden’s cabinet speak, I am astounded by how little they know about the way this country runs and how the average American feels.  I look out my back window to see farmers producing the food that we consume.  Do the twin idiots, Granholm and Buttigieg, really believe that these huge tractors (and the trucks/locomotives that take their products to market) will run on solar power?

Good point, although I’m really  curious about the middle ground.  Somewhere between here and the Hellish scenery in the distance is a vast hazy patch.  How will it happen?  What will be the events later described as the final, irrevocable steps and triggers of war?  That’s all rhetorical, of course.  Genuinely unknown, and probably unknownable except in retrospect.

Although “rhetorical” is surely the wrong word.  These questions are real, and will be answered in time.  I just mean that I don’t expect anybody to answer now, and I certainly won’t argue for or against any but the most science-fiction of possibilities.  Epic stupidity is a frequent visitor to history.

Well, y’see, if most of us were using electric cars etc, even drastically-reduced oil production would be enough for the farmers.

Not that I believe THOSE idiots see it.

BDB, I have a question.  Your post appears to assume that the Democrats are one thing, and the Progressive monster is a different thing.  Are they really different?

Haven’t we already had sort of a vision of the left’s idea of “civil war” with CHAZ/CHOP etc?  In that case they’ll do the most damage to themselves/each other, and won’t be able to keep it up for long either because they’re incapable of feeding themselves.

Is the hatred within a man the same thing as the man?  Where once a man stood, a beast of fury rages and kills — the man is gone, the beast remains.

I do know what you mean, and I sincerely and objectively believe that your understanding (the understanding of the majority of the resistance against Progressivism) of the nature, degree of fanaticism, history, goals, and methods of the Progressivist movement is dangerously naive.

I won’t sing along, because I would be abetting the Progressivist cause.

The “resistance” will be back for sure, at a minimum.  Republicans will all be worse than Hitler.  Sanctuary cities will continue to descend into chaos and possibly anarchy, and continue to shed productive people.  Beyond that, I don’t know.  But watch the war on fossil fuels.  The Federal government will relent, but the key is how the banks and investment funds deal with energy producers.  If ESG continues, we will get poor and possibly even hungry fast and that will change everything, making the future very hard to predict.

Yikes!  Grab some popcorn and a soda and watch the fall.  This is the beginning of the end of Progressivism.  They are claiming that boys can be girls, girls can be boys, you can end racism by instituting racism, and that cow farts are destroying the planet, so we need to quit using fertilizer.  When you abandon the concept of truth and insist on manipulating people with lies, you end up destroying your own foundation.  Everything they are trying to do will fail eventually.

Democrats are Progressives and Progressives are Democrats, it’s just a matter of degree.  They all have the same agenda, it’s just that at one end of the spectrum they want it all now; at the other end they are willing to take five or ten years.  But they all believe the Constitution is an outdated document, because it allows their opponents to inhibit them as it is doing now.  So they seek the power that will let them obviate opposition and rule forever.  Ain’t gonna happen.  Reality is a thing and they will fail.  Enjoy the show!

I don’t know about civil war. I’ve often thought we’re like the frog in the pot of gradually heated water. We’re so comfortable in our consumerist prosperity. How will we know when it’s the right moment to get off the sofa and into the streets? And who wants to end up like a J6 political prisoner for exercising his all-important 1A right to criticize the government?

How many rough men are there, ready to man the barricades — or better, to attack the citadel? I fear our civilization is too far gone. God has removed his providential protection from the post-Christian world that’s turned its back on Him.

A million babies murdered each year. We might just deserve what’s coming.
