‘Then Cowgirl Change Your Ways Today…’

It might be too late for Liz Cheney to change her ways. She is trailing her Republican opponent, Harriet Hagerman, by 22 points in the Wyoming Republican primary.

Liz is encouraging Democrats in Wyoming to vote for her in the primary. That may not be enough to help her hold onto her seat in the House. Registered Republicans make up 71% of registered voters in Wyoming compared to 15% registered as Democrats.

From Fox News:

The Wyoming poll found that the majority of voters disagreed with Cheney’s decision to serve on the Jan. 6 Committee (63%), and thought her opposition to Trump hurt her ability to represent Wyoming (61%). And 54% said Cheney’s service on the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attacks made them less likely to vote for her.

You might want to ride the range in DC with Nancy Pelosi, but at some point, you must come back home to the voters in Wyoming.

“In a decade, maybe less, Republicans will see Liz Cheney as the hero she is.”

Robbins frequently posts things that sound unambiguously Republican.  Then he’ll post something like the above.  The difference is that his pro republican posts are about decades old  realities and  not relevant to today’s politics.   They could  be insightful into an honest person but the current congressional investigation is obviously not seriously seeking truth.  Robbins is a Democrat and a sham.

Liz Cheney has decided that telling the truth about Trump is more important than winning an election. Good for her.

Well, there are investigations and then there are investigations. I’m waiting for the investigation on the Hunter and Joe Biden joint bank account. The bank account that was used to pay prostitutes that crossed state lines to service Hunter. That is sex-trafficking. Crossing state lines makes that a federal crime. Needless to say, I’m not holding my breath and all I hear from the House are the Sounds of Silence.

What we have learned from Hunters phone sex-trafficking and bribery is the least of the problem.

Its clear the President is possibly guilty of somethin so heinous I dare not say it aloud.

Are we talking about how the Wisconsin Supreme Court decided that the entire election in 2020 was illegal?  And that I was right all along?

I really need to do my I told you so post about that.

Well, I would tell Wyoming Republicans to “vote early and vote often” but the Dems would come after me for copyright infringements.

Ever notice that there are more Dems 6 feet under than over 18?

As a Canadian I can say I have voted for Democrats at least 10 times in the 2020 election alone.

It’s the Bush political machine behaving like the Bush political machine. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld are part of that machine and so is Cheney’s daughter.

The story goes, and I forget where I heard it, that Ted Cruz when he was first running for the Senate, had the opportunity to meet with G.W. Bush to pitch his case for support. Cruz concluded something to the effect that he was going to help bring the republican party out of establishment control (long before that was a popular phrase). Bush responded, “Ted, I’m the establishment.”

And it’s the truth. The establishment doesn’t want things to change. They like the old system where the democrats control the narrative and they get into the top dog spot occasionally, but always soak up money and power even on the down side because they play ball with the dems.

Gary Robbins is a victim, like so many others. He believes unbelievable lies. He doesn’t like Trump, therefore everything said about him is true, no matter how absurd.

Gary, in a decade or so, the only thing that we will know about Trump is what they tell us to believe. Lots of people still believe horrendous lies about Catherine the Great being crushed by a horse while having sex with it. If they know nothing else, that’s all they know and they think it is true. What makes you think that history is fair or accurate?

After more than 150 years of hagiography, people still think Lincoln is a sainted sage, when he was a brutal, corrupt politician, like all politicians are, just a bit more so. People have a very irrational hatred of Nixon. He made mistakes, but he isn’t the devil incarnate as he is often portrayed. He biggest sin was being a socialist, not unlike the Bushes.

Gary is not a victim or dupe.  Hes part of that establishment your referring to.

Question: Should Mike Pence have stopped the electoral college certification?

I would have liked to happen.  Like they did back in the 19th century.  But Mike Pence was not the type to do that.  Now as a VP Gingrinch would have done it, just to see what would have happened.

No, Republicans will not see her as a hero. They’ll see her as a dupe to Pelosi. Pelosi had a chance to make this a fair investigation actually seeking the truth about the riots of 2020 and rejected that idea from the outset. Cheney joined the committee to give cover for Pelosi’s show trial. Shameful.

Wikipedia says that the House passed a bill to create a bipartisan commission — equal Democrats and Republicans — but the Senate blocked it. Pelosi never would have chosen a committee of her own if Republicans hadn’t blocked the original bill, and Liz Cheney wouldn’t be in the spotlight right now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_6_commission .

So, you seem to be saying that Senate Republicans forced Pelosi to establish an illegitimate “committee” which, in turn, forced or allowed Liz (Token-WY) to show or become what she is today? Interesting.

What else did it say in that failed House bill that might have been objectionable to Senate Republicans? Or should they just have passed it without reading it? (I hear that is all the rage these days.)

Yes.  There was far too much doubt as to the veracity of the voting process.  What should we put up with when there is blatant ballot box stuffing going on?  Both the dems and the establishment wanted very much to take Trump out of office and they stymied every effort to present the evidence.

The establishment is what it is, it changes, consolidates, gathers power, grows.  That’s the way it works and is the reason the founders set it up the way they did. It was changed in the late 19th century by a handful of powerful men, and that spurred the natural evolution toward the accumulation power toward the top.  It got a solid push with TR and Wilson and was accelerated again with Obama.  Trump tried to stop it but was too mild and made the mistake of going along with those who wanted to shut it down because of covid.  They moved in from all sides and put us where we are.   While the Chinese were working in the same direction I’m sure they could not have imagined that we would do it for them, amazing, actually.   Now there are two fundamental related  questions; can we free ourselves from the democrats soon enough to free ourselves from the Chinese?   The Chinese know that they won’t have the same control over whoever replaces Biden so want him to remain and we’re playing along, again with the Chinese.

Liz Cheney knew exactly what she was doing. She gave her constituents the middle finger and chose to be the darling of the Left and the toast of the media and D.C. parties. She was all about Liz and she knew full well what the repercussions of that choice would be back home.

I am surprised that she chose to run for re-election after her grandstanding and virtue signaling performances. She didn’t care about the citizens of Wyoming then, why should she pretend that she does now? Her cheerleaders acknowledge that her choice involved not winning re-election, but here we are again with hypocritical Lizzy still trying to have her constiuent’s cake and eat it too. Good riddance to Lizzy the attention whore. She would not have been in the position that she is without her Dad’s name recognition and coattails. She used her Dad’s reputation to create a platform for herself that was totally selfish and entirely opposite of what she told the Wyoming voters that she conned into electing her in the first place.

She is a liar and a selfish con artist. Good riddance. She will try to wrap herself in the blanket of a “heroine”, cheered on by gullible idiots, but she has had her 15 minutes of fame and is done in politics, by her own doing. Good.

I’ve heard the demographics are going to shift around 2030 so they might have to move before then. Saw a blurb that India might pass them in the next five to ten years.

I really don’t know what to say about the naïveté in using Wikipedia as a source for anything that touches on partisan politics.  There are many ways to tell a story to produce the desired result.  The bottom line is that Pelosi blocked two Republicans from serving on the Committee because it would not serve the narrative to have them there.
