I’m Old School, I Will Not Apologize
In the light of the Roe v. Wade decision by the Supreme Court, I will not apologize.
The “Salve Regina”, Ecclesiastical Latin, also known as the “Hail Holy Queen”, is a Marian hymn and one of four Marian antiphons sung at different seasons within the Christian liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. The Salve Regina is traditionally sung at Compline in the time from the Saturday before Trinity Sunday until the Friday before the first Sunday of Advent. The Hail Holy Queen is also the final prayer of the Rosary.
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry,
Poor banished children of Eve;
To thee do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy toward us;
And after this our exile,
Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
R. that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

We are getting closer to the Te Deum:
I am reminded of praying the hours. Thank you for the nudge and for sharing this beautiful piece.
So beautiful. Glorious. This is worship. Thank you
For what? Only Harry Blackmun has something to apologize for.
Just as we (‘Merica) may be rediscovering Federalism, will we also realize that sometimes the old ways are actually pretty good? Such as standing when someone approaches your table, holding doors open for all, wearing your Sunday best for worship, respecting your elders, to name a few. I have always been accused of being “old school” and I thank the person who says that to me.
And maybe, just maybe our denominations will start to turn away from the SJW garbage and return to the old ways. That is my prayer. Of course mine (PCUSA) may be beyond salvation but I will keep trying!
The real PCUSA is the PCA.
Or the Presbyterian church in Pakistan. They’re ok too.
It will take a “long march through institutions” to effect change in the PCUSA, but it can be done. Recruit stout men and women to join you in the campaign.
Have you considered switching to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC)? That’s what our congregation did.
A very small minority of us have. Wish we could sway the majority but they don’t seem to care.
