Terrible news from Boston: Two firefighters were killed yesterday when they were trapped in a burning building in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood. Thirteen other firefighters were injured.
We cops are often envious of firefighters and the downtime they enjoy at the firehouse, but you will never in your life see people work more furiously and at greater risk than firefighters arriving at a structure fire where, as was the case in Boston, people are trapped inside. It’s beyond heroic, and I’ve stood in awe every time I’ve witnessed it.

May God bless them, and bring peace to their families in their grief. There are no better people than those who fight fire.
