We Almost Lost the Republic Again Thursday Night
Insurrectionist thugs instigated by violent rhetoric from Steven Colbert (pronounced COLbert) stormed House offices after hours last night. Their mission: to overthrow the government. Why else would they be there? Heroic Capitol police apprehended them after some time. Luckily, no blood was shed, by the grace of God.
I can’t stop shaking, thinking about how close we came to losing the republic last night. This marvelous experiment, almost lost to these traitorous thugs. I hope they are all detained in solitary. After all, how can they learn how to live in a free country unless we deprive them of a few basic rights?
Waiting for President Biden’s strong condemnation of what was essentially an act of war.

I expect similar acclamations from the rest of The Ricochetti.
And since thousands of people have died since then, we must acknowledge that thousands of people died as a result of this.

Since they were pounding on Jim Jordan’s door, he should be doing parody versions of the stuff she said. Hiding in his bathroom, behind the door, all the rest.
One side observation. The article says, “The incident comes amid heightened security and tension in the halls of Congress as hearings into the riot by former President Donald Trump’s supporters that ensued in the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.”
I personally heard someone refer to ex-president Trump recently, but why the novel distinction? This can’t have come out of nowhere. And it can’t be purposeless. This seems to me to be intended to keep the Trump-as-crazy-enemy narrative alive. I think, like coercing people to use myriad pronouns for people — and thus legitimize their claims — or else suffer socially, this is intended to subtly maneuver people to refer to Trump as a would-be usurper, or else suffer some social stigma or embarrassment.
Maybe just repeating “The Big Lie” over and over wasn’t getting the job done?

As close as they came to toppling the government? Yer dang right they should be detained indefinitely. I say reassign all Border Patrol agents to DC immediately before it falls to the forces of darkness and, nay, woe.
But . . . but . . . Colbert will have to write his own material!
No, he’ll be too busy testifying after he’s dragged into court for INCITEMENT! Obviously he ORDERED those men to attack the SACRED SPACE! And we nearly lost OUR DEMOCRACY!

I’ve got an idea. Since Congress is so terrified let’s lock them in a secure vault hundreds of feet below the surface of the earth. That should put an end to it.
I couldn’t. I was already dead from tax cuts, Supreme Court justices, and withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement.
There’s an algorithm for that.
I can think of many things that are worth doing rather than watching Colbert at 11:00 PM, some of them are actually legal.

The Jan. 6th Committee is busy looking for any Republican who assisted the rioters in gaining access to the Capitol — and not finding any.
But . . . Adam Schiff is a Democrat who let these rioters in. The entire J6 Committee should shut down in a cloud of embarrassment after their leader did exactly what he accuses Republicans of doing.
(But then, accusing Republicans of doing what they themselves are doing is part of being a Democrat.)
Imagine if we had a media that cared.
