President and First Lady DeSantis?

An idea whose time has come? We proud Floridians just signed this petition to draft the man we consider the best governor in America to run for President in 2024; here are details from the synopsis of the article outlining the launch of the Ready for Ron PAC:

Ronald Reagan’s campaign chair launches committee to ‘draft’ Ron DeSantis to jump into 2024 presidential race before Trump does

  • The ‘Ready for Ron’ PAC is led by Ed Rollins, Ronald Reagan’s campaign chairman in in 1984, the year he won a landslide victory and cinched 49 states
  • The draft committee is unaffiliated with DeSantis himself, and now is working to amass an army of supporters to convince him to run for president
  • The group is also headed by Lilian Rodriguez-Baz
  • Asked whether DeSantis should run if Trump jumps in, Rodriguez-Baz told DailyMail.com: ‘We’re not concerned with whether or not Trump is going to run’
  • A recent poll of Wisconsin state GOP convention-goers found that more Republicans want DeSantis to be the nominee than Trump

And here is the link to the sign-up form, for those who think, as more and more seem to be coming to this view, that this is a preferable solution to the question of the best way to save the Republic from the Marxist barbarians who seem to be determined to destroy their own country.

Yes, I know that even one week is said to be a lifetime in politics and I also know that the kind of thinking represented by this PAC as well as our openly backing it may ruffle some Trumpian feathers. Even worse, it might bring a smile to that group of “Republicans” known as Never Trumpers who helped elect this pathetic, doddering, dangerous idiot to the Presidency, something I am loath to do.

So be it. The only point I am trying to make is that with the midterms being, in effect, right on top of us, the 2024 campaign will start the day after those elections. If we have learned one thing since the Rigged (Mollie Hemingway’s excellent book) election of 2020 it is that we should leave no stone unturned in our efforts to assure we are not cheated out of our franchise again.

President DeSantis! It sure has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

God Bless America!

He’s got my vote. Governors make the best presidents, and he’s the best of governors.

    I Liked this!

But not to express support of, or opposition to, any Republican candidate for office.  You’all know a lot more about party politics than I do.

I just think that you present a strong, clear, balanced argument for your choice.  It is completely devoid of the irrational, spiteful bickering that too often overwhelms serious conversation amongst us defenders of the American way of life, to the delight of the proggies, who are the real enemy.

I am speechless in my attempt to find the right words with which to express my appreciation for this comment, which is a rare occurrence for  even a used-up old Trial Lawyer. I do try hard to abide by rules of reason and civility in arguments as a young lawyer either finds out fast that juries do not like personal attacks of any kind or he proceeds to another less confrontational branch of practice. Coming from your good self, it is especially appreciated. Thank you.

I love the idea of putting his hat in the ring now, and not waiting around for Trump. Although I’d hate to lose DeSantis here in FL, I’d love for him to be our next President!

Agree with every jot and tittle, Doctor Robert! I must note that first line would be quite a promotion! I will add, in all seriousness, that we will need every single strength and power He can grant us in order to turn back this war on Western Civilization. I refuse to believe He wants it to fail.

I hesitate to type this because I don’t want to hurt Ron DeSantis’s chances in the primaries of 2024.

I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 (and didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton either) and I didn’t vote for Trump in 2020 (and didn’t vote for Joe Biden either).

I would enthusiastically support Ron DeSantis for president in 2024 in both the primary and the general, should he be the nominee.

It’s rare for “never Trump” types and MAGA types to agree on anything.  But maybe Ron DeSantis is the kind of person who can create consensus.

Amen!  I would be thrilled to vote for DeSantis for President in 2024.  I voted third party in 2016 and for Biden in 2020, my first Democrat who I voted for President in 48 years.  I would love to come home.  DeSantis is a wholly acceptable compromise that I am willing to sign on to.  When I vote in my Presidential Preference Primary I will vote for whatever Republican (other than DJT or DJTJ)  who is strongest.

I hate to be a downer, but who’ll take care of Florida when DeSantis moves out?  Will Florida degenerate and go purple or pink?

But mostly, DeSantis is too fond of his family.  I am concerned that he would too cautious of their well-being and physical safety to be as effective as president as he is now as governor.

But if there’s no one else.  So be it.  He can at least win the presidency and be a stick in the eye of the Democrats, and that’s an awful lot.

My hope and in part expectation is that Trump is acting like a candidate to continue to draw fire and to score blows but that he’ll tip his hat to de Santis as the time approaches.    The Democrat run media and party  is vicious and dishonest, so it’s hard to know how to play it, but Trump supporters have to be on board because we’ll need all real votes as the other side will have massive unreal votes.   If Trump does run we can’t split the party nor have a vicious struggle. It’s  not  a normal election, the power behind the democrats is new and includes Chinese inputs.

    Not happening.

Desantis has repeatedly said he will not run against Trump.  To the point that he is now gets visibly annoyed when asked the question.

I am not going to make him a liar.  If he is the man you want him to be, you will want to see him keep his word.

The fact that these drafters dont know that or dont care makes me very suspicious of them and they are probably running a grift to suck up your money.

    Dont fall for it.

I’d like to see a link or a news source of some kind confirming that DeSantis has said that he won’t run against Trump.

Not that I don’t believe you.  It’s just that it sure seems like DeSantis is running full bore for the presidency in 2024, regardless of whether Trump runs or doesn’t run.  So, let’s see the link.  Shall we?

The stories I saw are months old and a bit vague. They all said the same thing: That DeSantis had told people privately that he would not run against Trump.

Governor of Florida is a more important job or at least it should be.   If we had 50 Governors that could lead their respective states so well, many of the federal issues would be minimized and eliminated in time.

How can one be called a RINO for refusing to vote for RINOs? BTW, I do not consider myself a Republican and haven’t since around 2002.

Now, if someone wanted to convince me I’d be wrong to decline to vote for those people, that’s different. If it was someone whose opinion I respect, I might even listen.

We will never return to a strong union with the weaker leadership in the states.  We need to see states excelling and making other states look bad.  We need people asking why can’t my state do that, and the obvious answer be the people chose the right leaders.
