Who’s Winning? Who’s Losing?

For those people who thought there’d be no civil war in this country, I think they’ve been proven wrong. We aren’t fighting with arms, but the discourse is as brutal and vicious as I’ve ever seen. Every day there is a new report of the skirmishes that have taken place, of the people whose lives are being destroyed, or of the reputations that have been wounded. It’s difficult to describe this time in our country as anything but a war.

As we watch new battles erupt, I find myself trying to assess the status of the two sides. When I look at the Left, I see our schools being captured by an insidious curriculum. The project is spearheaded primarily in private schools by NAIS. This WSJ article reveals the true nature of NAIS indoctrination that is embedded in every school subject.

This organization is operating with impunity and threatens our public sector schools by trying to bring this dogma to all schools.

Then I read stories that show signs of sanity seeping into the population. The stories of the governors who are finally yielding to pressures to stop the mask mandates are very encouraging. These actions are happening in spite of the guidelines of the CDC, which still expects people, including children, to wear masks in certain circumstances. And the truckers who have defied the demands of the Canadian Prime Minister and are protesting for freedom, as well as all the people who are supporting them and refusing to comply with the government. In a sense, they are speaking for all of us who are refusing to comply with arbitrary, unscientific government mandates.

Almost every day, we hear and read stories where the Left is “winning,” or the Right is making headway. If you are like me, you experience a mental whiplash, trying to keep track of the status of both sides in this war. It’s like trying to keep track of the score of a football game, when both sides fight for the football, but one side makes up its own rules, while the other side follows the traditional rules.

I finally realized that there is no way to “keep score” in this war; trying to determine if we are making legitimate headway in this conflict is impossible.

Instead, I think we can benefit from maintaining a practical perspective: in this war, any progress we make is its own victory. We know that the Left will continue to try to take us down, try to wear us down, thinking we will tire from fighting their relentless efforts to take over our country. The most important strategy we can follow is to fight: sabotage their Marxist plans wherever and whenever we can. Strengthen our schools’ curriculum to teach children the subjects that, instead of alienating them from others, will engage them in the history of our country, and give them the tools for future success. When we learn about another effort to ruin our country, we should see it as an opportunity to destroy the effort and restore sanity and then act. The more we learn about the damaging efforts of the Left, the more proactive we can be to take back our country.

So for the long term, we must be relentless in our efforts of eliminating their plans and instilling pride and respect for our own country. We must assume that every time we learn about another Leftist project, we are empowered to stop them in their tracks. And we can teach our children how to be good citizens and learn the basic skills they will need to move forward in life.

In this war, there are not battles and skirmishes that we can score along the way. The only goal must be ultimate victory.

We will win back our country.

And don’t forget the 2022 elections! If the Republicans don’t take advantage of their majorities, there will be a real insurrection. And I’ll be at the front of the line!

I view it differently.  The battle for the heart of America is lost.  They are now roaming around and shooting anybody showing life just for the fun of it.   All that is left is to wait for the gods of the copybook headings to explain it to them / sort it out.  Maybe a new America will like a phoenix come from the ashes of this trash heap.

Very interesting post, Susan; I am not convinced that observations of the establishment leadership of the Republican Party lead me to believe that they interested in winning–but I think many with small voices and influence are. I am reminded, in your writing, of one of my favorite quotes regarding keeping faith:

“As long as you have life and breath, believe. Believe for those who cannot. Believe even if you have stopped believing. Believe for the sake of the dead, for love, to keep your heart beating, believe. Never give up, never despair, let no mystery confound you into the conclusion that mystery cannot be yours.”

In 2020 we saw the Democrat steal a POTUS election.  Looks to me like they took two senator level ones also.  The theft did not bother me.  Elections were stolen in the past and looks to be from this point forward.  What alarms me is that nobody seems to care.   Heck we seem to have regulars on here that revel in the theft because it removed a POTUS they did not like and has been beating that drum.  Maybe the GOP is doing things on the back side to resolve the Democrat theft issue but I just do not see it.  Looks to me like they prefer being the junior partner in the organized crime syndicates calling themselves governments.  As long as they can steal their part of the flesh rendered from the American corpse.

I think we must stop laying down like the Republicans might be doing. We have to push them, energize them, remind them that they serve US. I know they are woven into the corruption, but I think we have to scream louder than ever that we won’t tolerate the status quo and they’d better not sit on their hands.

I have written to my two senators and will write to my representative. Here’s what I wrote, short and sweet:

Dear Sen. Scott [Rubio], I’m writing once again out of desperation to tell you that you must do more than protest what the Dems are doing, especially if we gain seats in the elections. I want to hear how you are changing the status quo, that you are taking back our democracy and not allowing the Democrats to pursue their destructive policies. Please, I beg you, make a real difference. –Susan Quinn

I like this comment more than your #2 .

Republicans must win the 2022 elections big time. Then they must look to install leadership that recognizes the progressive Democrats as enemies and not just opponents and moderate Democrats who have joined those progressives should also be recognized as enemies. That leadership must then deal with inappropriate government action related the efforts of the Jan 6 Commission.

We will soon know if we have established a winning trend.

I know some people celebrate  Confederate battles won but I don’t see much to celebrate in that.

Then we need to restore that heart. I’m sorry that you refuse to do that, or think it can’t be done.

You can not restore what no longer exists.  We gave up generations of children for the sake of convenience.  Shipped them off to schools that has taught them how evil America is, especially white religious Americans.  How it is responsible for every sin.  That any disagreement with anything from the Left is racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and other bad things.

In the end it does not matter what I do or I believe.  Our generations will die out and this new belief will be the prevailing one.  Frankly teaching our children differently at this point will just be setting them up for failure as the culture will tear apart any that dissent and the tech / social media / government will track them down for the tearing.

I used to love and respect this country.  That is fading fast.  COVID has proven that my fellow citizens are not what I thought they were.  Afghanistan shows how inept our military is that it can not even withdrawal from a 3rd world rock pile it had control of in an orderly manner.   But are all in on “extremist purges” and gender transition support.  Every little issue is a  political”crisis” that seems to have the only purpose to mine money from taxpayers and power for bureaucrats.

I am not refusing anything.  I am just accepting the situation on the ground that we have developed to past the time for a non violent correction.

You’re spot on about us being in the middle (or early years) of the second civil war but I see different battle lines.

On one side are those who demand freedom and expect accountability.

On the other side are those who don’t understand or care about either, and that includes plenty of people on the right, including most of the leadership.

You’re right to cheer the victories you listed, but remember that they all came about by the first group fighting in the face of the second group’s pathetic indifference.

Yes, but us old guard thinks it proves we need to return to the old ways of classical liberalism.  Sadly the younger generations seem to feel it means we need to embrace big government, socialism, etc.   Sure they don’t care for some of the restrictions but for many they like getting twice their salary for not working and doing what they pleased.

I was just thinking (I do that now and then!) that some people may be resistant to hoping for progress on our agenda; if they don’t hope, they can’t be disappointed. But I suspect whether they hold hope consciously or not, they will be disappointed if we fail. I’ve decided to focus my energies on resilience and fortitude for our country. If we’re not successful this time . . .

It prolongs the war and emboldens the enemy though. Those sleepwalking countrymen of ours are the reason why we’re in this mess so deep.

Those inept leaders inaction might as well constitute a win for the other side. Every time a leader on our side chooses to accept a fraudulent election, or plays hands off regarding some city’s tyrannical measures, or let’s the crimes go unanswered he feeds the beast.

There is a need to recognize that the categories listed here transcend the traditional Republican and Democrat Party lines. We should now call them something like the People’s Party and the Socialist Party. We need to work on getting the votes to make the appropriate shifts knowing where the natural majority lies.

I think we are fighting on a couple of fronts similar to Lincoln (HBD yesterday!).  Not only was he fighting the war but he was also “fighting” his generals until he found Grant.  Grant’s losses were appalling BUT he won.  We must do the same – find our leaders in government and fight the leftists.  “Never, never, never give up!” Winston Churchill

It’s always difficult to defeat an opponent who is so skillful at the art of projection.  It’s not an exageration to say Progressives/Democrats are absolute masters of it.

Just this week, I saw in our local newspaper an editorial by a college professor entitled, “Censorship from right wing needs to be stopped”. One of the groups highlighted by the author was “Moms for Liberty” (just reading the group’s name makes me shiver). Evidently, what got this professor’s knickers in a twist was the group’s opposition to CRT theory and LGBTQ curriculum being taught to their children.  (Strangely enough, the professor had nothing to say about Big Tech’s censorship of conservatives.)

In the very same edition of the newspaper, was a picture of Joe Biden as he blasted the “hateful” legislation being proposed by Florida Republicans regarding the teaching of gender identity and sexual orientation in Florida schools.

So there it is:  Progressives/Democrats – Good.  Conservatives/Republicans – Haters.

This is the battlefield.  We need to fight on it with every weapon at our disposal.
