News Flash: Dems Ease COVID Restrictions for Midterm Variant
In an intriguing trend, Democratic leaders across America are easing COVID restrictions based on what campaign science advisors see as growing voter outrage their declining utility for battling the less-lethal Omicron variant. The latest polling science indicates that masking and lockdown measures may actually do more harm to political careers public health than expected.
One blue state governor says he is lifting all COVID restrictions. “When I took office, I committed to the people of my state to make my re-election their quality of life my highest priority, and that means easing restrictions.” However, some Democratic leaders are uneasy about lifting COVID restrictions so soon. “I just don’t think it is right to give back our power grab ease up on health measures when the pretext for our power grab pandemic is still here.”
Looking ahead, many political observers scientists say Americans can look forward to all COVID restrictions being completely lifted well before the midterms Fall, by which time the mobilized, enraged electorate science will prove to even the most power mad health-conscious Democratic leaders that the restrictions should stop.
Great title! The rest follows, of course. Well done!
Yes, love the title! I’ll be stealing that “Midterm Variant” idea.
Nailed it.
I hope COVID is actually done with us. Because the Democrats care very little about our health and a whole bunch about their politics.
The midterm variant hasn’t reached New Mexico yet. Notice came out today that the mask mandate is staying in place.
Ignore it.
The only place I wear a mask is at work, in our hospital (and it comes off in the Doc’s lounge). No one has hassled me ion months.
Oh, I do. Have been since August when she “temporarily” reinstated an indoor mandate. She renews it every month. Sadly not enough others are ignoring it. The Governor’s polls must be strong enough to hold off this new variant.
Ditto.
What is particularly amazing is the fantasy that ending the mandates would make any difference, that there is some measurable risk attached to no longer doing what didn’t work.
