Creepy Porn Lawyer Convicted for Stealing $300K from Thicc Thespian
Former presidential hopeful and CNN commentator Michael Avenatti was convicted Friday of stealing $300,000 from adult actress Stormy Daniels. This marks the second felony conviction in two years for Avenatti, who rocketed to fame in the early Trump years pushing lawsuits and #resist conspiracy theories. Avenatti stole two book advances from then-client Daniels that totaled nearly $300,000.
Stephanie Clifford, stag name Stormy Daniels, claimed she had been paid $130K in hush money to hide a lewd liaison with the former president. This earned her a book deal with St. Martin’s Press and Avenatti stole the lucrative advance payments. By the time Daniels asked him for the money, he had already spent it, apparently on shiny suits and body oil.
Avenatti bizarrely decided to represent himself in the trial and called Daniels to the stand for a thorough berating. It was to no avail, as the jury decided the porn star who talks to ghosts and receives messages from a doll named “Susan” was more credible than the disgraced lawyer.
In 2020, Avenatti was sentenced to 2½ years in prison for trying to shake down Nike for $25 million. He now faces a maximum of 22 years in prison for his conviction on wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Before his fall from grace, Avenatti was a mainstream media darling seriously promoted as a presidential candidate and even compared to “the Holy Spirit.”
According to pollster Frank Luntz, “CNN and MSNBC featured him on their networks a combined 108 times within a 2-month span.”
Sadly, Avenatti is off to federal prison instead of replacing Jeff Zucker as president of CNN, where he belongs.

I’m guessing he chose to represent himself so that on appeal he can claim he received substandard representation.
No matter how much distaste one may have for this woman, she was a victim.
Has he been or will he be disbarred?
I know “stag name” is probably a typo, but how delightfully appropriate. Claim you did it deliberately.
From Wikipedia:
“On several occasions, beginning in March 2019, Avenatti was indicted in California and New York on federal counts including tax evasion, extortion, fraud, and embezzlement. He has been ineligible to practice law in California since May 4, 2020.[15]“
It was intentional. It was either that or “nom de vavoom.”
Never forget these two were considered credible in the effort to take down Trump and most Trump haters still believe the claims.
Stormy Daniels for President?
Better than the boob we have already . . .
I don’t think doubling down on the number of boobs there will really help.
Oh, but I disagree! Think about how the ratings for press conferences would skyrocket . . .
Well, having a press conference really maximizes the number of boobs in a place. Reporters and all.
Avenatti’s such a bad lawyer it’s amazing that Trump never hired him.
Apparently it was “virus blocking” between Cohen and Avenatti.
Thanks. I hope NY will follow suit.
I just realized …
… poor Chris Wallace.
I knew it was at least a couple steps down, even before CNN’s latest problems.
But overall, CNN and Chris Wallace probably deserve each other.
Whutevs, Chris. But I hope Fox doesn’t take him back.

Schadenfreude is bad. I know because I’m enjoying it too much for it to be good.
I know I was suspicious of the claim that Donald Trump slept with a porn star and paid her to keep it a secret. It would have been more in Trump’s character to sleep with a porn star then go on the Howard Stern show to brag about it.
