Here’s a Fun Idea

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman (not to be confused with the NYTimes columnist who wants to be Governor of Oregon because he thinks the current governor isn’t left-wing enough) thinks Biden should pick Liz Cheney as his running mate in 2024.

His rationale … I am not making this up… is because Israel is a parliamentary democracy and Orange Man Bad, and therefore, combining a president with a 28% approval rating with a vice president so consumed with hatred for the previous president that her own party has rejected her will unite the country and save democracy.

It might.

The Left would probably go for it.

I had several former progressive friends PM me on social media last fall, to explain how pleased they were that “real Republicans” like Liz Cheney would not be voting for Trump.

The messages tended to be like “How great is it that the progressive movement is attracting some free thinking Republican leaders! Our side will soon be made up of the best from both sides of the aisle.”

    In random stand-up mode:

Perfect choice. They can call it the Unityparty. Uniting all the people who hate, fear or distain the demon.

But I can’t see Jill not being threatened by Liz.

Same type. So she’s out for VP on that alone.

I don’t think we figured the social consequences of a First Lady and a female Vice President.

That’s been an unexplored dynamic but playing out in real time as we watch.

It looks like the left admires the fascist abilities of the Cheney’s. They’ve always been secret admirers. First Liz, then Dick. The War Criminal himself.

The most vilified and hated  man by far, until Donald Trump.

Dick Cheney, you are absolved of all your war crimes, because you hate Trump too!

All the hate on Liz Cheney is perfectly justified.    I want her thrown out of the Republican party.    However,  if Biden manages to either win in 2022 or fraud his way in in 2022,   Liz would be better for the country than most Democrat party alternatives.

Those bastages! Not only do they blatantly cheat in elections,  now they want to schedule presidential elections two years early.

    I don’t know – that’s a tough one.

Would it be more satisfying to vote against Biden/Cheney or Clinton/Cheney?

Now I know why Rush called Friedman “Loopy.”

OTOH, Cheney would be a better Veep than Harris, and she sure doesn’t belong in the Republican party . . .

Friedman’s thinking has always been flat.

Belen Fernandez (Lefty) wrote a whole book about Friedman, which was quite amusing.

As long as they lose,  and are certified to have lost,  I do not care.
