Democrats Correct to View PTA Mothers as Terrorists
Yasser Arafat essentially invented modern terrorism. He understood that he could not stand up to the military might of his adversaries (Israel and America), so he made no effort to win on the battlefield. He attempted to kill not soldiers on the battlefield, but women and children in schools and shopping malls. By creating enough fear (or terror), he could get the citizens of those countries to demand that their governments give in to his demands, despite their military superiority. He could defeat a superior military opponent without ever engaging with their superior force. We call it terrorism. And it is a very effective tool, for those who understand that they have no hope of winning an open debate or open conflict. It’s a brilliant strategy, if one can ignore ethics and law, which apparently Mr. Arafat excelled at.
There is a reason that Democrats consider mothers at school board meetings to be terrorists. It may seem a bit over the top for our Attorney General to officially classify mothers of young children to be terrorists, but when you understand that the Democrats understand that they can’t win an open debate, this seems like a reasonable response. At least, if you can ignore ethics and law, which apparently Mr. Garland and Mr. Biden excel at.
Today is my 53rd birthday. So I decided to avoid anything which might upset me. It’s a happy day, right? After work, I watched some YouTube videos about music and philosophy, learning about my interests, while avoiding current events. But a PragerU video caught my eye – This is Why There is Still Hope for this Country (link below). This is an outstanding illustration of the danger that mothers pose to leftism in general, and Democrats specifically. If you watch this video, you will be happy. If you don’t have time for the entire five minutes, just watch the first 45 seconds or so. But watch the whole five minutes. You’ll be in a good mood, just like I am now.
The Democrats have a problem. In order to gain the control and power they crave, they must directly challenge Americans in two arenas that many non-political citizens find to be unforgivable: their children and their guns. They instinctively understand that once the government gains control of those two things, that it’s basically over. They may give ground on transsexual wedding cakes or alternative energy policies. But they won’t give ground on their children. Or their last line of self-defense.
Anybody hiking through the woods who comes across a bear cub will instinctively feel fear and dread. Perhaps even terror. Because they know that mother is nearby, and that they are immediate danger, despite the cute, helpless bear cub that seems so adorable. The cub may be harmless. But its mother is not so harmless, and she is unlikely to avoid confrontation – that is her cub, and she will lash out first and ask questions later.
So Attorney General Garland is quite correct when he identifies mothers as terrorists. To Democrats, at least. They won’t just go along. Not when it comes to their kids.
When I cheer for my daughters on the basketball court, I do so with polite applause. While my wife is screaming bloody murder at anyone who challenges her kids. It’s just part of being a mother.
And Democrats understand that if mothers care about their kids, then they are a direct threat to the Democrat party.
Imagine being a member of a political party that views mothers as terrorists. Surely that would give one pause, one would think.
Conservatives tend to be polite and non-confrontational. But mothers don’t care about such things. Not when it comes to their kids.
So do yourself a favor, and watch 45 seconds of this video – or the whole five minutes.
I’m in a good mood.

Nice post, and thanks for the link. I think you’re on to something. I’m a dad, not a mom, but I will shoot you if you threaten my kids. Almost combines your two points.
Great vid, Doc! I’m now in a good mood, too.
Oh, and happy-happy!
Happy Birthday, Doc.
Have some cake.
A great post and a valuable video message for these times. Thank you.
The Andrew Klavan bit on Merrick Garland-Federal Law Guy fits perfectly.
Hm.
For a doctor, Doc, you’re no slouch at diagnosing political diseases.
So either you are a crummy doctor (which we already know is impossible) or you must be one of them polymaths.
Assuming you also inherited your forebears’ talent for economics.
I read portions (including the above) to my wife. Her response was basically, “Well that’s right! That’s the way it oughta be!”
I remember my mom rooting for the Aggies, and rooting for her daughter on the track. Yelling bloody murder. My daughters-in-law are cut from the same mold: It must be tied to the X-chromosome.
Have to play devil’s advocate here: aren’t there also plenty of cases where moms will decide to keep their heads down (and advise their kids to do the same) in order to demonstrate conformity to the power structure and improve the kids’ chances of getting into Harvard or wherever?
Hope your version is the right one…
That’s what I did.
Not proud of it.
I’m proud of the lady in the video. I cheer her on, for courage I did not have…
This is why I want to clone him. Also, I wish to study epigenetics as it relates to his innate psychology and cognitive proclivities.
Awesome!
(And happy birthday, Doc.)
What a superb, uplifting video capturing the very essence of the American Dream; I am deeply in your debt for sending this as it is proof positive that those of us who have dark moments – days! weeks! months!- of despair are not giving the Founders enough credit! They did, as we know even in the darkest of times, create the greatest Nation ever created by the Mind of Man and Blessed by the Grace of God!
And, of course, Happy Birthday!
Sincerely, Jim
PS: Now I’m in a good mood! :-) JAG
Happy Birthday Doc and thanks for giving us the gift this year!!
Happy Birthday.
Loved the video. Thank you.
End the government school mandate – free parents and children from compulsory “education” now!
This is why I believe the trans movement will be the first major cultural loss for the left (unless the Court overturns Roe v. Wade in the next few months). The trans movement requires that parents allow their daughters to be beaten on the field by men posing as women, and it requires that fathers and husbands and brothers tolerate men following their daughters and wives and sisters into public restrooms and lockeroom.
It’s a bridge too far. They’ve overreached, and they are awakening a sleeping giant.
Oh, and Happy Birthday, young man.
Happy Birthday! Oh, to be 53 and know what I know now…
Mama and bear cub…
The left can’t give hope and happiness.
The teachers are creating a dark and negative emotional environment for the kids. It goes against every maternal drive I have.
Wait until they add climate “change” into their mix.
This has always driven me nuts anyway, the negativity of the teachers in my kids’ public schools. I became convinced the only cure was to get more parents into the schools to spend the entire day or week with the kids.
This would solve so many problems. I don’t think the teachers would go so low if there were other adults in the room with them. And it would help the teachers regain their perspective a little bit. I was hoping that the remote classrooms would accomplish that somehow, but not to my surprise, the teachers didn’t want the parents to hear them.
But this would also give the parents a sense of how cumulative these messages are. The kids aren’t just subjected to them in English or history class. It’s in every class, all day long. It is a terrible weight to put on them.
I spent ten years working to promote classical music education in public schools. I don’t play an instrument. But the orchestra program was the only place I saw that was teaching hard work and hope. Our orchestra teacher-conductor gave the kids something in return for their work: a love of and knowledge of music they will have all their lives. We hope children get something out of their hard work in school. We hope they are a little gears who do their homework and practice their skills–foreign languages, music, and so on—that turn much bigger gears in terms of what they get back. That’s how incentives work. That’s why children prosper academically. In the music program, that happened.
We have got to turn our public schools into places of achievement and joy.
No place that is controlled by unions or government employees will ever be a place of achievement and joy.
As the homo superior Dr.. Bastiat has noted, when people feel powerless and despairing, they vote Democrat. It’s not like they automatically vote for Republicans or Libertarians otherwise but if they think they have control over their lives they don’t automatically want to empower the government. Strong families give hope and support to make individuals strong. Family and faith and in direct opposition to an all powerful leftist government.
In the Brothers Karamazov, Ivan is treated like garbage by his father. He becomes a Communist with a somewhat chilly heart and a bizarre focus on children suffering. He speaks to the fourth brother about how there is no G-d and no real morality so the fourth brother kills their father based on an ideology born of child abuse and atheism. Karl Marx and Rousseau were both so neglectful of their kids they likely contributed to their death.
As Zuby put it in a tweet,
Happy Birthday!
And great post, as usual . . .
