The Waukesha Murderer Is a Product of the Left’s Grievance Industry

Change my mind.

Maybe I’m foolish for getting out in front of “the facts” like this, but I’d put real cash money on a bet that the Wisconsin domestic terrorist believes he’s a victim of “white supremacy” and “institutional racism.” Dennis Prager has long said the victim mentality allows people to justify all kinds of evil.

Sure this guy knocked around some women and sexually assaulted them, but, hey! It’s not his fault America hates him and is holding him down. He’s just paying it forward. Even if he isn’t self-aware enough to know he’s motivated by believing the grievance narrative about blacks, the very fact of his life of crime points to a sense of despair and lack of self-mastery that the victim mentality engenders.

If Kyle Rittenhouse is a vigilante because he holds conservative values (like loving one’s neighbors by protecting them and their property — even if they’re black), then the Left owns this guy and one of the most evil acts by a domestic terrorist in our time. Make them own him.

The Waukesha murderer (I refuse to use his name) is a product of BLM, the 1619 Project, and all the other racist initiatives promulgated by the Left’s grievance industry. Hang him around their necks.

It is a core element of Marxism that crime is a product of capitalism. Therefore, criminals are not evil people, but instead are victims of the evil class system–or, in Marxism’s latest deranged incarnation, victims of racism.

Maybe.  The typical criminal, though, of whatever race, sex, or creed, feels that he deserves to have whatever he wants and that his victims had it coming.  However, I think it quite likely that a criminal who can claim any sort of “intersectionality” will be encouraged by the thought that he will be given favorable treatment if caught, and will enjoy his notoriety.

I am wondering—given Mr. Brooks’ apparent enthusiasm for Malcolm X and anti-Semitism—whether it might turn out that he is a Muslim and this was Jihad? Driving a vehicle through a public Christmas celebration is one of their M.O.s?

    Or is that really tin-foil-hatty?

It’s imperative that when we talk to our left-leaning family, friends, and neighbors, we bring this up. If any of them bring up Kyle Rittenhouse over Thanksgiving dinner, this is the retort. “Your side stokes hatred. Blacks don’t believe they have any agency and need white liberals (leftists) like you to take care of them. When they feel powerless because you’ve convinced them they are powerless, they lash out. You own Waukesha.”

This is exactly racial Marxism.   Americans are too ambitious for the class-based Marxism to work–too many people think they will get rich.  But the racial Marxists take advantage of a history of racism to divide current Americans.  It is evil and we should treat it as such.

They own the murder of those five policemen in Dallas and the two in Baton Rouge, as well. Note both of these were before the unfortunate death of George Floyd.

An important reason behind the development of Cultural Marxism was the Marxists’ discovery that class-based, internationalist Marxism did not appeal to a sufficiently large number of working class people. Hence the search for other ways to attract followers. Curiously, that was also behind the birth of fascism. And, ironically, when Cultural Marxists stoke racial hatred and resentment, they come to more closely resemble fascists.

I wouldn’t credit him with that much malice aforethought. He is a sociopath, very likely a psychopath as well. Anyone with a criminal record like his hasn’t had a rational thought in his life. Not that thinking of himself as a victim is necessarily rational, but it takes a degree of actually caring about what he does and why. My experience in dealing with budding criminals is that they simply don’t even think in those terms. Their focus is all forward, getting what they want, and not backward, asking why they did what they did. He is a monster, but much worse than him are the prosecutors and judges who are allegedly rational, but fail to keep monsters off of the streets because they think that these monsters are victims rather than victimizers.

You could be right, but there are a lot of thugs out there who justify their crime in such political terms, and there such political ideologies tend to lead people into committing crimes.

After noticing the thuggery and sadism so characteristic of ideologies like Marxism, fascism, racial nationalism, etc., someone once asked whether those ideologies attracted people with twisted minds or whether it twisted normal minds to evil. The answer, of course, is both.

I don’t think that’s why they do it. I think people of the left are driven naturally to stick their finger in the eye of anyone they recognize as better than them.

In the Soviet Gulag camps, hardened criminals were better treated than political prisoners: the former were merely unfortunate products of the not-yet-eradicated class system while the latter were enemies of the people.

In The Gulag Archipelago he wrote:

In the Criminal Code of 1926 there was a most stupid Article 139–“on the limits of necessary self defense”–according to which you had the right to unsheath your knife only after the criminal knife was hovering over you. And you could stab him only after he had stabbed you. And otherwise **you would be the one put on trial. (And there was no article in our legislation saying that the greater criminal was the one who attacked someone weaker than himself.) This fear of exceeding the measure of necessary self-defense lead to total spinelessness as a national characteristic. A hoodlum once began to beat up the Red Army man Aleksandr Zakharov outside a club. Zakharov took out a folding penknife and killed the hoodlum. And for this he got…ten years for plain murder! “And what was I supposed to do?” he asked, astonished. Prosecutor Artsishevsky replied: “You should have fled!”
So tell me, *who creates hoodlums?!
–The Gulag Archipelago, Volume 2, page 431, Chapter 16: “The Socially Friendly”, Harper Perennial Modern Classics paperback edition 2007

Sounds a lot like America’s “progressive” district attorneys and prosecutors and judges.

    Yes, Marxism is evil.

What did he want as a result of running old women and children down in the streets?

I don’t entirely disagree with your comment. I even said:

I agree he’s a monster, but I believe both that leftism makes monsters of people and monsters are attracted to leftism. And, yes, the prosecutors and judges are monsters, too.

A few years ago someone somewhere hijacked a truck and drove it through a crowd, killing 50 or so (Paris?, Florida?), as an act of Muslim terrorism.

How horrible that such a thing happened, so recently, and I can’t even remember the details. Horrible, shame on me.

Here is the Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm in an interview from 2007:

“Is there going to be an individual I divert, or I put into treatment program, who’s going to go out and kill somebody?” John Chisholm said in a 2007 interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “You bet. Guaranteed. It’s guaranteed to happen. It does not invalidate the overall approach.”

Jackson Sparks died today.  He was marching in the parade with his baseball team.  Jackson and his brother Tucker suffered fractured skulls.  Jackson was eight.
