Why “Let’s Go Brandon” Infuriates and Terrifies the Democrat Left

Background, ICYMI: An AP reporterette claims she heard a Southwest Airlines pilot say “Let’s Go Brandon” into his cockpit mic. (So far no audio or video has emerged to prove her statement.) She also claims to have done what any other suburban, privileged white woman would do and demanded to speak to the plane’s manager. (Banging on the cockpit door to try and get a statement from the pilot.)

Legit or not, this alleged incident has brought out the full fury and rage of the Democrat left, with one former Deep State Operative/current CNN employee comparing “Let’s Go Brandon” to supporting a terrorist group.  Former Clinton administration official Joe Lockhart says it indicates “a broader problem” which one presumes is the fact that a lot of unionized pilots aren’t Democrats. Another Democrat/CNN contributor declares “Let’s Go Brandon” is MAGA code for “Sieg Heil.” (In fairness, they say that about pretty much everything the right does.)

The “Let’s Go Brandon” phenomenon both infuriates and terrifies the Democrat Left. They see it as both blasphemy and a potential electoral liability. Allow me to explain why their responses are so hyperbolic.

First, as Democrats say, The Personal Is Political,” and they really, really believe this. Most conservatives view politics as a necessary(?) evil, an annoyance, or a hobby; maybe a grift if you can get someone to pay you for writing or talking about politics. But politics are central in the Democrat and leftist identity. “Let’s Go Brandon” is something they take as a personal attack on their belief system, and it infuriates them; as a devout Christian would be outraged by a crucifix dunked in urine by a taxpayer-funded artist, or a Muslim would be from a drawing of Mohammed in a tutu.

Second, they are also frightened because their electoral sales pitch is based on “Democrats are cool, Republicans are uncool.” Millions of people have no clue what Democrat policies are, but vote for them simply because of the constant media and social messaging that “Democrats love and care for all people, animals, and trees. Republicans are greedy, racist, and stupid. Voting Democrat means you’re one of the good ones.” But if people feel comfortable reciting anti-Democrat slogans like “Let’s Go Brandon” in public spaces, that means the massaging is being rejected. If the messaging is being rejected on a massive enough scale, their grip on political power might slip. And political power means, literally not figuratively, everything to them.

And that terror and fury are exactly why they go ballistic over a level of affront a conservative or a Republican would shrug off and go on about their day.

What I’d like to know is whether or not Mr. Biden is actually aware of any of this? (I suspect that he probably doesn’t really know what the fuss is all about…perhaps the president actually thinks everyone is shouting, “Let’s get ice cream!”)

Well said! It is definitely personal to them, and I can’t help chuckling at their discomfort and dismay. Let’s hope it actually has the impact they fear!

I am trying to find the link, but, earlier I read an article with attendant twitter feed, that debunked the whole SW pilot story.  There was an audio, where the pilot signed off with what could be Let’s go brandon, but was more likely Let’s go Braves.  This audio was linked in the outraged journo’s feed, with her claim that she heard it the day before.  Ironically, the audio she linked to was timestamped 10 days earlier.  It all seems fake to me.  The link was actually at the bottom of that same twitchy article…

It is positively delightful  that the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” … which originated with a liberal reporter trying to cover up the FJB chant at a NASCAR event … has become a rallying cry far exceeding any slogan a GOP political consultant was paid multiples of yours or my annual salary to come up with.

They’re used to controlling all aspects of culture. Then suddenly, they realize they don’t, and they can’t handle it.

Similar to how they cannot separate art and artist, so when a writer they assume they own (JK Rowling to name an obvious example) strays from the message and suggests men and women are different, . . . well, it’s time for the book burnings.

This is so typical of tyrants–they and their sycophants always overreact to the slightest slight against them. This is why everyone keeps their head down.

The reporter heard something the pilot most likely never said. Tyrants get twitchy and paranoid. Personally, I think that indicates that they know they are wrong in every way.

I think this movement is fantastic. It puts the Democrats in their rightful place, like the stupid guards in Hogan’s Heroes.

Reagan would be laughing if he were alive to see this. :-)

My favorite part of that story is that she stormed the cockpit.

The odd part is that she wasn’t then immediately handcuffed and tied to her seat, and that there weren’t FBI agents waiting for her upon landing.

Is it because she had the right kind of politics?

Or maybe it’s because she only “stormed” the cockpit the way most people on 1/6 “stormed” the capitol.

Unless it’s in some kind of random order, not by order-recently-viewed it shouldn’t be that difficult.  Also I find in Edge that if I start typing even key words from the title of a page I viewed, it can bring up the url.  Sometimes if the words are rather generic, it helps to start with the name of the site.  Such as, for a Ricochet post on wind power, instead of just typing “wind power” I would use “ricochet wind power.”  Works pretty good!

Lets go Brandon sliced deep into the bowels of the Democratic party. It is eviscerating in it’s simplicity. With three words falling off of Kelli Stavast’s tongue she exposed the liberal media for what they are.
