Karma Is Relentless

First, I know very little about professional sports. The only sports I ever paid attention to were the ones in which I had a child participating….Little League baseball, little kid soccer, etc. I only know all the rules for high school football because I attended every home game of my children’s schools because I was a Band Mom for 12 years. You know…marching band? Halftime shows? I’ve never watched sports on television because I’m just not interested in the pros.

However, tonight when I was driving home I heard on my truck radio that the Atlanta Braves had beaten the Houston Astros in game three of the World Series so the next game would be played in Atlanta on Saturday night.

Ha ha ha ha!!

Isn’t this the stadium where the MLB whiners wouldn’t allow the All-Stars game to be played in July due to Georgia’s legislature voting for new laws to make their elections less able to be defrauded? Or…as it was described in various news reports: “restrictive” because it requires an ID, and signatures must be verified, and several other aspects to make it harder to cheat while voting. And then their icky (R) Governor Kemp signed it into law?

I just think it’s funny that after that whole bunch of hysteria that the Atlanta Braves earned their way into the World Series, and now a game watched by millions will be played there in that stadium and there isn’t anything the Wokesters can do about it!

It is delicious irony, and that the other games are being played in Houston where we just passed the six week abortion ban.

    From USA Today Sports:

HOUSTON — Former president Donald Trump will attend Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday at Truist Park, Atlanta CEO Terry McGuirk told USA TODAY Sports.

“He called MLB and wanted to come to the game,’’ McGuirk said. “We were very surprised. Of course, we said yes.’’

Trump will not be sitting with MLB or club officials, McGuirk said.

“We are going to give him his own suite,’’ McGuirk said.

Asked if he was concerned about Trump’s polarizing presence, McGuirk said they had no objection.

“We are apolitical,’’ McGuirk said. “We’re open to anyone coming. It’s great that he wants to come to our game.’’

When I was a Californian (and SF Giants fan) I found the “tomahawk chop” annoying. But I’ve relocated to  East Tennessee and the Braves are now my regional team (and my motivations for leaving California frayed my allegiance to the Giants). The “tomahawk chop” is sooo un-PC that I hope they “tomahawk chop” the hell out of it on national TV and end this Series in 5 before going back to Houston..

Yes, it didn’t even register in my brain until after I wrote this that Houston (TEXAS) was also one of those icky places for the Politically Correct People/Persons/[is there a preferred term???] The World Series this year is just one big Karma Fest, huh? Ha hahahahahahah!!

It is quite the karma-fest as Texas also passed in 2021 a vote integrity law that tightened rules about mail-in ballots, prohibits drive-through voting, and implements some other measures.

I was in band for four years, and my daughter played in band for four years on her own, and I never did figure out more which direction each team was going, and that each team seems to get four chances to move the ball ten yards along the field(?). I am clueless on sports.

I wasn’t able to watch the two games in Houston, but I caught the nail-biter last night.  And will watch tonight, too.  Go Braves!

And that’s just for basketball!  Football is REALLY confusing!

As a matter of fact, the Atlanta Braves won that game three of the World Series in Atlanta.  And yes, Major League Baseball – by the unilateral action of MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, forbade the Atlanta Braves from hosting the MLB All Star Game in July.

Although I have cut ties with MLBaseball (I was a lifelong MLBaseball fan and onetime purchaser of a partial MLB season ticket), I watched game three hoping to  hear alternating chants of

    Let’s Go Brandon!
    Let’s Go Manfred!

I was disappointed.  Not surprisingly, alas.  I also saw some really stupid baseball being played and managed even stupiderly.  Even if MLBaseball weren’t a lying bunch of racist prevaricating hater d-bags, the sport itself is just a lousy game the way it’s played now.  In November.

Yes it was, and I was furious when the commissioner did that.  I’m pretty happy Braves got in.  I was listening on the radio myself last night.  That was a great game.  I’m listening tonight and Braves may do it again.  Currently it’s in the 9th inning and Braves up 3-2.  Hope they beat those cheating Astros.

Edit:  Braves win!  They’re up three games to one.

Amen.  As I discussed on the Powerline Podcast interview of Henry Olsen, humiliating the woke Commissioner of MLBaseball is about the only reason to pay any attention to the World Series.  If we can watch the Atlanta Braves fans tomahawk chopping and celebrating their team’s victory, that will be a sweet bit of rubbing the lying, racist Manfred’s nose in it.
