Electron: A Woke Superhero
I have an idea for a new “comic book” superhero named Electron. Electron is everywhere at once and is in all possible states at all times. Electron is simultaneously male and female (and all other possibilities!), every sexuality, nationality, race, creed, and religion. Election possesses every possible superpower at the same time. The rub is, just like an electron (or other subatomic particles), when Electron decides to appear at a specific position, all of the possibilities collapse into definite ones based on probabilities. One time Electron could be a Jewish, gay trans male with the ability to stop time, the next “they” could be a Buddhist, bisexual female with the ability to read minds.
The satiric possibilities are literally endless. This needs to be a comic book series, a streaming show, and a movie franchise with the inevitable theme parks in California, Florida, Paris, and Beijing.

Everyday he she becomes something different. Everything all at once is a little much.
Degeneracy of Electrons
And without beginning.
I like the name “Quark”. Although, “Wave Theory” is kind of fun. Maybe with a side-kick named “Dark Matter”.
Dark Matter would never be seen or directly observed but he could move things around.
Theo, I think this is brilliant. Honestly. It’s a completely viable character concept.
And emblazoned on his/her shirt:
I just want to highlight the fact that here we have a conservative who created a woke superhero as a joke whose premise is a thousand times more entertaining and intriguing than the actual woke characters that “professional” SJ comic writers have been churning out lately.
Electron is the sort of gonzo character I could actually see Dark Horse circa 1998 publishing. I could see it as a very out-there version of Quantum Leap. I would buy issue 1 at the very least.
Love interest: Neutron?
Somebody call the Pointer Sisters.
That is perfect! Now. . . . I wonder who we can find to write the first episode.
I really like the Quantum Leap angle. Very good!
I like it. 😂
Or how about Neutrino/Neutrina/Neutrinx. It’s gotta be the latter!
I’m not married to the name. Quark and Wave Theory are great. And I really love Dark Matter! 🤣
That’s pure GOLD!
This is great, Theodoric.
You could have Electron be a pessimist. You could have a Pollyanna character named Proton.
You could have a set of Quark brothers or sisters. One could be sunny and cheerful, one depressing, one likeable and engaging, and one a weirdo.
You could have a shadowy character, who might be real or might be a myth. Call him String.
The Dr. Who TV series was wonderful for coming up with new story lines because the Dr. changed into a new person every few seasons. I lost interest a few years back so I don’t know what the latest version is. This electron idea goes Dr. Who one better with even more varied possibilities. A group of good writers could have quite a time with this one.
I know just the guy to draw and animate the series. I am going to copy this idea over to Doug TenNapel, who already is responsible for Earthworm Jim. Theo, is it OK?
@markalexander would seem to be the logical choice.
Beautiful! 👍
Sure. I’d love to see someone do something with this wacky idea.
Okay. But please like this post!
I had a nautical thought, too. You could have some old-fashioned Royal Navy NCOs and their wives. Bosons and Bosons’ mates.
Please explicate.
Jerry is reaching for Boatswain’s Mates, which are the crew of enlisted men who help the ship’s Boatswain (if so equipped) or other Deck officer (not Officer of the Deck) to carry out the most sailorly of functions — those things which have changed little in hundreds of years, outside of cooking and scrubbing toilets. If it was done before gunpowder or steam, it’s probably the Boatswain’s area of responsibility.
Pronounced “Boh-sn”, which sounds close enough to “Boson”, which I think is a mass-carrying particle, as opposed to Fermions, named for physicists Fermi and Bose. Not looking it up — close enough.
Note that “mate” in Boatswain’s Mate means assistant or colleague — more of the rum and the lash than of sodomy.
