Dems Need to Pivot Away from Biden’s Failure and Toward Manchin’s and Sinema’s Success

Democrats keep bashing Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema for hesitating to spend an additional $3,500,000,000,000. It’s both economic and political insanity to fund the equivalent of the entire 2009 federal budget on “infrastructure” (ahem) when inflation is rising and the federal debt nears $29 trillion — all with a 50/50 Senate. Yet the Democratic Party is livid these two reddish-state senators are stopping Biden’s agenda. Don’t these dummies know voters will punish them for opposing the sainted Joe Biden?!

The DNC refuses to accept the new reality. Joe Biden keeps getting less and less popular, and most voters now oppose Biden’s failed agenda. Everything Biden touches dies and the only thing that might save Dems from a midterm wipeout is to run from Joe’s failure. If “Manchinema” (Lord, I hate that construction) find trouble in their home states, it’ll be because they didn’t oppose Biden strongly enough.

Here’s a reality check for DC Democrats: The president has been underwater in polling for the past two months and it’s only getting worse. According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, 52.5 percent of voters oppose the president and 43 percent support him. Scanning the headlines, nothing will raise this long-term collapse. High gas prices, emptying store shelves, a broken border, inflation, Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, a weak China stance, and a vast majority of voters saying America is on the wrong track. Oh, and continuing Covid mandates, misinformation, and cases. There are now more Covid deaths in 2021 than in 2020 and we’re not even 10 months in. Way to “shut down the virus,” Joe.

The Democrats cling to a strange myth that Biden and his plans are wildly popular. But the president has failed in every area other than the one reason he was elected — not being Trump. If voters once blamed 45 for America’s troubles, that sentiment is long gone. They’ve shifted the blame to the current party in charge of the White House, Senate, and Congress. Another 718 images of that buffalo-hat doofus won’t change that.

Instead of bashing two successful senators, Democrats better start bashing their disastrous president. Biden’s ship is sinking fast; Manchin and Sinema might be two of the few politicians not taken down with him.

I’m hoping Arizona voters will remove the Carpetbagger from Houston from the Senate in the midterms. Unity in Washington DC is overrated.

Biden and his crew are making Jimmy Carter look good, but it’s worse than that. His Attorney General is weaponizing the FBI to destroy the First Amendment. Going to a schoolboard meeting and disagreeing with the board will place you on the no-fly list. Meanwhile the real domestic terrorists are roaming the streets of Chicago, New York, Seattle, Potland (not a typo), San Francisco, Los Angeles, and any other city under Democrat control.

The Valley Girl Marxist, and the rest of the usual suspects, to include any number of Republicans in DC are destroying the economy. Grocery shelves are emptying, and like Caracas, food trucks in the US will have Waste Management painted on their sides. A rolling buffet that will substitute for Uber Eats.

The new mandate of the Department of Energy is to make sure there will be no energy, such as gasoline, natural gas, and electricity.

I hope that Manchin and Sinema keep throwing a wrench into the gears of legislation.

I also hope that Martha McSally doesn’t run again. She managed to lose 2 in a row, first to Sinema and then to Kelly.

Just goes to show that Arizona voters aren’t as smart as they need to be.

I see you touched a nerve. (If you’re not careful, before long he’ll be babbling something about Gore actually winning Florida…or something.)

Good post, Jon. I think that my only disagreement is the title. I’d prefer something like: “Let’s hope the Dems don’t pivot away from Biden’s failure toward Manchin’s and Sinema’s success.”

I was talking with my oldest son this weekend, and he was quite impressed with Sinema. He’s pretty conservative, but he was calling her “my girl.” I agreed with his point about Sinema acting quite reasonably, for a Democrat. He mentioned possibly voting for her next time around, and I pointed out that this was a bad idea, because even if her voting record turns out to be pretty good, it would tend to give the Dems control in the Senate. In a very real way, a vote for a moderate like Sinema or Manchin turns out to be a vote for Schumer, in terms of controlling the agenda.

McCain weakened your argument with his petulant, crooked vote against repealing Obamacare. At this point, Senator Sinema is far preferable, apparently much more committed to actually serving Arizona, than Benedict McCain.

No, shows the Arizona GOP, Doug Ducey, and Mitch McConnell stink at selecting viable Senate candidates, if they did not intent to throw the elections to teach the voters Orange Man Bad.

Martha McSally is a great person to be Senator, the voters should be smart enough to realize that even if she’s not especially photogenic or something.

As bad as McCain was, he never made Schumer the Majority Leader.
