Dems Need to Pivot Away from Biden’s Failure and Toward Manchin’s and Sinema’s Success

Democrats keep bashing Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema for hesitating to spend an additional $3,500,000,000,000. It’s both economic and political insanity to fund the equivalent of the entire 2009 federal budget on “infrastructure” (ahem) when inflation is rising and the federal debt nears $29 trillion — all with a 50/50 Senate. Yet the Democratic Party is livid these two reddish-state senators are stopping Biden’s agenda. Don’t these dummies know voters will punish them for opposing the sainted Joe Biden?!

The DNC refuses to accept the new reality. Joe Biden keeps getting less and less popular, and most voters now oppose Biden’s failed agenda. Everything Biden touches dies and the only thing that might save Dems from a midterm wipeout is to run from Joe’s failure. If “Manchinema” (Lord, I hate that construction) find trouble in their home states, it’ll be because they didn’t oppose Biden strongly enough.

Here’s a reality check for DC Democrats: The president has been underwater in polling for the past two months and it’s only getting worse. According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, 52.5 percent of voters oppose the president and 43 percent support him. Scanning the headlines, nothing will raise this long-term collapse. High gas prices, emptying store shelves, a broken border, inflation, Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, a weak China stance, and a vast majority of voters saying America is on the wrong track. Oh, and continuing Covid mandates, misinformation, and cases. There are now more Covid deaths in 2021 than in 2020 and we’re not even 10 months in. Way to “shut down the virus,” Joe.

The Democrats cling to a strange myth that Biden and his plans are wildly popular. But the president has failed in every area other than the one reason he was elected — not being Trump. If voters once blamed 45 for America’s troubles, that sentiment is long gone. They’ve shifted the blame to the current party in charge of the White House, Senate, and Congress. Another 718 images of that buffalo-hat doofus won’t change that.

Instead of bashing two successful senators, Democrats better start bashing their disastrous president. Biden’s ship is sinking fast; Manchin and Sinema might be two of the few politicians not taken down with him.

Actually, the Biden administration is not a failure, it is a rousing success.  It is successful at destroying America as founded, and turning it into a Welfare State where a large plurality of citizens are dependent on government; foreign policy is dedicated to reducing the power and influence of America on the world stage; and domestic policy is intent on dividing and pitting Americans against each other.  The DemocRats are getting exactly what they have been planning for.  Their assumption is that none of the hardships being felt by nearly everyone in America will apply to them, but they might be very surprised when they get bitten.  In the meantime, they are working very diligently toward their goal of misery and dependency for all.

Why should they? It’s not like they can be voted out of office — not when they control the counting (and can create tens of thousands of fake ballots).

Thing is, if they were going to pivot, they would have already. They’re not. They’re going full bore over the cliff and taking us with them.

So the question you need to ask yourself is whether the destruction of the United States is all part of the plan. And if that’s the case, what, exactly is the plan?

I think you have the analysis backwards.  The less popular Biden is, the more desperate the Dems will be to convert on their suicide pact.  If you are going to loose in the mid-terms, ratchet the system as much as possible.  It worked with Obama-care, which we are stuck with forever.

As for Manchin and Sinema, they will hold out for a huge payoff and then relent.  Manchin will make it rain money in WV and he will get re-elected, if he wants it.  He might just retire and enjoy the zillion dollar payoff to all his family members (eg, here and here and here).   Sinema has the backing of the McCain machine, which ensures her re-election.  The people of AZ pretend that they are mavericky, but they just do what the machine tells them.

Why on earth do we think there will be a fair election? It will be stolen and if we’re surprised it may be too late to reverse matters.  It was stolen when we had the White House and we have Republicans who refuse to recognize that fact and who believe Trump was the problem.

    This is pretty illogical.

The reason people disliked and worked against Trumps re-election was his behavior after he lost the election?

There is a pretty big timeline problem there.

That is a very, very good point.  I had a strong suspicion about Trump given how he kept insisting in 2016 and 2020 that if he lost, it would be that the Democrats had cheated.

Both Trump and Biden voters are good reason to be disappointed in hindsight; most Republicans did not know that Trump would press “The Big Lie” that Trump won, and would instigate the January 6th riot, and most Democrats did not realize how incompetent Biden would be and how stubborn he would be about Afghanistan.  Apologies are owed by both Trump and Biden voters in retrospect about how badly both have performed since the election.  https://ricochet.com/1038929/apologies-owed-by-a-biden-and-b-trump-voters/

Good post, Jon.  I think that my only disagreement is the title.  I’d prefer something like: “Let’s hope the Dems don’t pivot away from Biden’s failure toward Manchin’s and Sinema’s success.”

I was talking with my oldest son this weekend, and he was quite impressed with Sinema.  He’s pretty conservative, but he was calling her “my girl.”  I agreed with his point about Sinema acting quite reasonably, for a Democrat.  He mentioned possibly voting for her next time around, and I pointed out that this was a bad idea, because even if her voting record turns out to be pretty good, it would tend to give the Dems control in the Senate.  In a very real way, a vote for a moderate like Sinema or Manchin turns out to be a vote for Schumer, in terms of controlling the agenda.

I’m hoping Arizona voters will remove the Carpetbagger from Houston from the Senate in the midterms. Unity in Washington DC is overrated.

Biden and his crew are making Jimmy Carter look good, but it’s worse than that. His Attorney General is weaponizing the FBI to destroy the First Amendment. Going to a schoolboard meeting and disagreeing with the board will place you on the no-fly list. Meanwhile the real domestic terrorists are roaming the streets of Chicago, New York, Seattle, Potland (not a typo), San Francisco, Los Angeles, and any other city under Democrat control.

The Valley Girl Marxist, and the rest of the usual suspects, to include any number of Republicans in DC are destroying the economy. Grocery shelves are emptying, and like Caracas, food trucks in the US will have Waste Management painted on their sides. A rolling buffet that will substitute for Uber Eats.

The new mandate of the Department of Energy is to make sure there will be no energy, such as gasoline, natural gas, and electricity.

I hope that Manchin and Sinema keep throwing a wrench into the gears of legislation.

I’m not all that interested in giving electoral advice to Dems.

My sentiments exactly after reading the headline of the piece several times to be sure I was reading this “Helpful Hints” column in the “Center-Right” publication I spend my more and more worthless American dollars to be a part of! After reeling off all the reasons no member of the “Center-Right” should want this party of lunacy to succeed, the author then proceeds to give them wonderful advice on all they need to do to win again in 22 and 24. It must be my “simplisme” (h/t John F… Kerry”) and admittedly non-nuanced approach to the affairs of the day, but for the life of me, I just don’t get it. Perhaps some loquacious representative of the in-house NT Club can explain it to this simple-minded old washed-up Country Lawyer. That would be a right neighborly thing to do!

Eureka! Wait! I’ve got it! Perhaps the author would find this suggestion a helpful suggestion for what to do about “the sainted Joe Biden” other, of course, than the wildly popular slogan heard across the land! Why not:

    Impeach. Remove. Bar from Office.

    That’s the ticket!

    You’re welcome.

It’s pretty likely, bit it will be several years down the road.  I think that Sinema will be up for re-election in 2024.  She’s pretty young, so I expect her to run, although she might have to face a primary challenge.
