Will They Back Down?
Remember the good ol’ days when people would shake their heads at alarmists and conspiracy theorists and remind them that it’s all happened before? That we’ve always survived the chaotic situations? That the foundations of the country are sturdy enough to overcome the worst?
I remember those comments made by people who are bright, knowledgeable, and practical people, and I know they believed what they said. I wanted to believe them, too, and usually acquiesced to their wisdom. Now I’m not so sure, because it isn’t one single thing that is unraveling, but many situations, pretty much at the same time. What does that picture look like?–
The Border disaster: people keep pouring in, with no end in sight. Are they sick? Are they criminals? Where are they going? Will the border patrols continue on their jobs, trying to manage this barrage of humanity or will they finally quit? Will we have strangers flooding our communities? Where will they live? How will they manage their lives?
The Shot and Mask Mandates: citizen workers in most industries are fed up with the government and business demands. Will they quit their jobs? Go on unemployment, which eventually may be available for an indefinite time period? The airline industry, restaurants, law enforcement, emergency medical care, hospitals, and many other industries are pushing back. They’ve had enough and may just join the ranks of those who have quit looking for jobs. And their employers may shrug their shoulders and join them.
Limitations on free speech: The military has decided to infringe on the rights on its members, even beyond the original restrictions; the threat of being accused of white supremacy or domestic terrorism looms large. The government is trying to intimidate and threaten parents who are protesting at school boards. People who don’t follow the PC code for speech on social media continue to be ousted and threatened.
Public Services: Is there a possibility that those who build and maintain our electric grid, sanitation and waste services could be threatened if they don’t comply with government demands? Who will replace them?
Cargo ships: Many of us are already seeing shortages of goods in many stores, especially supermarkets. For now, you may not be able to find your favorite brand of tomato sauce; tomorrow there may be no tomato sauce. As long as the problems of unloading cargo ships continue, shortages will continue and grow.
Gasoline: Gas prices are going up. The federal government refuses to tap into the resources that are already available; they’d prefer to pay rising prices to those countries that are not intimidated by the green lobby.
I could go on, but I’m just plain worn out.

The most alarming part to me is that we can only speculate on some of the reasons for some of these situations. We have to wonder if Joe Biden and his cronies are looking around and noticing the disruption and dissatisfaction. Do they not see what is happening? Do they really believe that on the other side of all this disruption are positive outcomes?
If everyone—and I mean everyone—does not start pushing back, begin protesting, refuse to comply with authoritarian demands, we are lost.
We. Must. Stop. Them.

In thinking about the huge numbers of people in critical jobs now fired for refusing to comply with vaccine mandates . . . I keep thinking that the only way to reverse this trend is for the administration to admit they were wrong.
Can you imagine Joe Biden admitting he was wrong? I can’t. Not before he lost his mind, and certainly not after. The arrogance is too great. No, I think they will need to continue on this path regardless of the damage done, because to do anything else is an admission they were wrong.
Not just about the vaccine mandates, but about their approach to COVID, the border, energy policy, education, foreign policy, domestic policy . . . the list is nearly endless.
They will not stop because they cannot stop.
Unfortunately, I share your thoughts, Drew. I don’t think they are going to back down. And I have a hard time imagining that all the employers in the country are going to join together and fight back.
But it only takes 10% to bring about change. I agree that they are not going to stop, because they are pleased with their efforts. “they” are not held responsible and the downsides don’t adversely affect them. Hopefully the 10% can bring the consequences of the decisions to they who are making the decisions.

How could I leave out Afghanistan? I can’t bear to think of how many lives have already been lost and how many more will be lost because they couldn’t admit they screwed up. Heaven help us.
And it’s worse than they can’t admit they screwed up. They keep saying that the pullout was a success.
It’s like they’re daring us to respond.
I was reading about the October Revolution in Russia and came across a headline from the New York Times: “Extremists’ Rise to Power in Russia” – “From Outset of Revolution They Have Thwarted Efforts of Moderate Governments”.
No, I’m not necessarily comparing the Biden Administration to the Reds but when I see the chaos that the Biden and his buddies are trying to stir up, I have to wonder.
I think the good news is the federal government and the phony elites who run it along with our major institutions are so incompetent that they can’t destroy the entire body of this great country. They can create a lot of problems and ruin, but it won’t be total and irreversible. 50% of the problem is we have no real opposition party. The GOP has been along for the ride most of the time. I think with this new primary season with some of these new people running in primaries for governorships and congressional seats we can do a lot. We need just a handful of really tough leaders at the state and federal level to drive the example and push the party along with them. The good news about all this disaster and failure is the Democrats are going to eat it hard for probably longer than they did post-Obamacare and Obama. And it puts a total stake in the heart that the careerist losers in Washington like half a century of doing nothing Sleepy Joe really have no competence, specialized skills or knowledge, and are the major part of the problem.

The gov’t has both the carrots and the sticks. It has a virtual unlimited supply of money to provide in either form to corporations, who will line up for the carrots and cringe at the sticks.
I think it’s worth the trade off for them. They get a more compliant workforce, the ones who won’t stand for it will leave, look elsewhere, and would be less likely to be promoted, over time, into leadership positions where they could start to change things. Marginalized.
It’s funny, I can’t recall a mandate for flu shots or proof that I’m clear of meningitis. The flu kills hundreds of thousands per year. Why weren’t our corporations distancing us socially then, mandating we wear masks? Were they actively trying to kill us?
No. The answer is money. That’s why.
Word on the street is that the Donks are going to get clobbered in the 2022 mid-term elections. Joe Biden had hopes he would be the next FDR. But he’s already looking like Jimmy Carter. Hostages in the middle east. Inflation. All we need is for Biden to tell the press that he was attacked by a killer rabbit.
They won’t stop and they will not allow an honest election. There was enough fraud to steal the election when we held the White House, so there is little chance that we can turn these guys over. Let’s be clear, the Chinese win and while they will rot as they always do but not before the US as we knew it is over. So what can we do? States that remain free with borders have to close them. Free states without borders have to help. The national guards of free states need to be called up by the states and used to help border states. Free border states need to continue building their wall. After it becomes clear that free elections won’t happen, cooperating states need to force Federal income taxes to be paid through them and the costs deducted. This sounds crazy but it is as crazy as allowing marxists to take over the country?

The problem with the notion that truth is what power says it is is that when people with that notion get power they forget that reality does not read the NYT or watch MSNBC. We are currently ruled by people who think that it’s narrative über alles and their methodology is to draft us into their war against reality and label us as traitors merely for suggesting the emperor get a new tailor.

Traditional religious faith is booming in other parts of the world. It’s very likely that in a few years many Americans who subscribe to traditional religious faith will move to places in the world where their beliefs are more mainstream and not “counter-culture.”
