“Character is Destiny,” They Said

And they voted for Hillary Clinton.

They said it again – and voted for Joe Biden.  True story.

Character is destiny.  Nothing has proven the truth of that statement more than the events of the past month.

The trouble with Joe Biden isn’t his possible dementia.  It’s that he’s Joe Biden.  Anyone who has followed his career would know that.  Just ask Barack Obama.

If Biden had entered office intending to damage the United States, what would he have done differently?

And Joe is just warming up.  Think of all the possibilities with Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China.  And there are more than three years to go.

The dementia might be a good thing.  It’s made Biden’s shortcomings so obvious that even the media – with their insatiable curiosity and nose for news – are becoming dimly aware of them.  His lies are so obvious even the fact-checkers have noticed.

But we can’t comfort ourselves by saying he has good people working for him.  Can we?

There’s Kamala Harris waiting in the wings.  Is there even a remote hope she would rise to the occasion and stop being Kamala Harris?  Right.

At least there’s a vital, principled and courageous oppos….  Never mind.

Character is destiny.

We’re screwed.

Only if it’s only THEIR character that matters, not OURS.

People on the left do not like America.  (Yes, that includes joebidenstan)  It’ll be an uphill battle.

We’ve been screwed for a long time or haven’t you noticed? It’s just so much more obvious now.

BastiatJunior: And they voted for Hillary Clinton.

    I LOLed.

What’s that old saying? “Don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining?” Remember how they sold Hillary as the Greatest Woman to Ever Live??? I mean, she was smarter than Marie Curie, a better leader than Margaret Thatcher (duh, conservative), and holier than the Blessed Virgin Mary.

And then they did it again with Joe Biden. And fully half of Americans were gullible enough (or stupid enough, or prideful enough that they’re unteachable) to buy it!

Turns out Orange Man Bad isn’t the existential threat to the Republic. Biden/Harris are. Su-prise, su-prise, su-prise! as Gomer Pyle would say.

We have been in a cold civil war for at least 20 years.  Some months ago I commented in a post that I did not see large numbers of people willing to kill for their side in a civil war.  Hence that I did not think it would get broadly kinetic.  Over the past several weeks, that is no longer true.  Here in the purple part of New England I have heard a different tone in people on the non-Woke side.   There is a cold hatred of the Woke and a desire to be rid of them however is necessary.  Granted, this is anecdotal.  But my circle of aquaintances is pretty wide and varied.  Including moderately Woke-sheep.

I do think we are a step closer to a Lebanon/Kosovo stage of things, but still not there.  The question is whether a political process designed for a pluralistic society can work when the establishment party/media does not want a pluralistic society.

    Biden has no character.

It isn’t just that he lies but that he deeply resents not being believed.  When he demands that we forget something from 4-5 days ago because it does not jibe with what he said before then and is saying now that really is how his mind (and his world) works.  A zillion-year career as a politician has made him believe that he just needs to get through this news cycle or this election campaign saying whatever he thinks will work at the moment.

He went from being one of the signers of the Ad Hoc Committee on Right to Life’s pledge to support a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe v. Wade to a pro-abortion position in a heartbeat when he realized in 1988 that the Democratic Party would never nominate a pro-life candidate.  Gore and Gephardt felt the need to invent some formal language to explain their flip on the issue.  Biden just blew it off and got snippy with anyone who called him on it.

In the election, there was not one complaint against Trump that did not apply to Biden. People were Proud to vote for the man anyway.

I’m waiting for him to give back Guantanamo bay.  He can give the remaining terrorist prisoners to the Taliban to look after.

Agreed. In my experience, the only “character” trait that career politicians share is unbridled ambition, with every statement and policy declaration aimed at the upcoming election cycle — and there’s always an upcoming election.

How to you define character? For the left, the personal is the political. They shoot everything through the politics prism. To them, good character is defined as pro-abortion, open borders, trans rights or whatever trendy Marxist BS is currently in vogue. By their definition, Hillary and Joe are of “good” character. Law-breaking? Fine as long as you support The Cause. Sexual harassment? Senility? Drowning a girl in a lake? All forgiven if you support The Cause.

Conversely, if you help lil old ladies cross the street, read to the blind, rescue puppies AND are a Republican. Oooooooh, sorry, you’re classified as a Nazi.

The left doesn’t define character like you and I would.

Oh, plenty.  But if I can’t find a video, I may not post at all, so you’d never know. :-)

The best definition I’ve seen is: “Character is what you do when no one is looking.”  I don’t remember the source and it has sometimes been appended with, “except God.”
