The True 1% – Victorious for 20 Years

To the true 1%: Thank you for 20 years of no 9-11s. These veterans represent the thousands who volunteered to stand between us and those at war with America. They protected our nation and gave us peace. American servicemen – the true 1 % of our population – deserve all the credit for American resolve, tenacity, agility, and success. Our military was victorious every day for 20 years in Afghanistan. Thank you Dan Crenshaw, Jocko Willink, David Goggins, Jonny Kim, and Chris Kyle (RIP).

    Thanks for the post, Mark.

This is such a difficult situation.  True heroes fought bravely and well, many made the ultimate sacrifice, but the mission is not accomplished, because the mission changed from something they could accomplish, to something that they could not.

Your post immediately made me think of Tennyson.  Not though the soldiers knew, someone had blundered.

Absolutely thanks!  A particular friend and co-worker of mine who served in Afghanistan is pretty broken up about what has happen.  He won’t see this but he needs these thanks.  For me it’s anger.

God bless all those who served in Afghanistan.  You kept us safe.  You made a difference.  It may not appear obvious now, but even Afghanistan will be better for it in the long run.  Out of evil, good will always triumph.

Thank you for this beautiful expression of what so many of us feel- to thank these truly incredible, in the true sense of that word, American heroes for what they did for us; there are simply no words but this post is a very poignant reminder of what we all owe them– very possibly, our very lives.

God Bless each and every one of them, and

    God Bless America!
