Future History of the Wuhan Red Death
I imagine that when the story can be told with a period in the end, it will sound like this:
Published in GeneralThe pandemic that ravaged the globe occured in several waves, each less lethal than the one before, despite some being significantly more contagious. Many measures intended to control the outbreak actually propelled new variants by prolonging the “soak time” in numerous populations. Initial measures taken when information was scant, designed to “flatten the curve”, were largely successful in preventing a collapse of various healthcare systems. The subsequent mobilization of assets to was proven to be excessive, as masses of ventilators and at one point a military hospital ship moored at New York City simply went unused — they were unneeded. Herd immunity eventually won out once a significant portion of the global population was armed to deal with the problem as it came, not after waiting a year or more to be vaccinated. Today, the virus exists as a global nuisance, of less significance than the common cold.
The earliest outbreak in Wuhan, China may have been an unsustainably virulent strain, quickly bred out in the normal course of virology, as in no other country did we see videos of people simply falling dead in the street. A lack of transparency by the CCP has made any investigation into the origin and early nature of the pandemic fruitless.
Maybe the story could talk about how some island nations are still on Lockdown and Self-quarantine and how a whole generation of Aussies have never seen freedom and has no IRL friends.
See World Civil War, p. 390.
But, but….Zero Covid!
… Later variants may have served as a marketing strategy for CCP Fentanyl manufacturers….
The South Korean government is SO serious at fighting this terror that has so far killed only about 2,000 (in a nation of 50 million), they have announced they are planning to loosen family gathering restrictions for the Chuseok (Thanksgiving) holiday. Tells me their restrictions are not about any disease.
Those videos could also have been psychological operations by the CCP to scare other nations into overreacting.
Could be. Yes sir, it could be.
