Oh, we have the forces. What we don’t have is the leadership to use them.

We do have the forces, it is the will to use them that is lacking.

I did not see Macron lecturing them that their number one enemy was French nationalism. In fact, if you look closely, you’ll see that two of the missions were against shopkeepers who posted English signs.

I had heard about French Special-Ops forces, as well as the GIGN performing search and rescue operations inside Kabul, and outside the perimeter of the airport. I certainly did not offer this post to embarrass our troops at the airport. I was especially interested in the GIGN unit that is composed of highly trained members of the Gendarmerie.

The concern of these troops, to include the British SAS is not the protection of Biden’s reputation, or those on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Removing troops first, and shutting down Bagram air base was an epic fail. That was Biden’s epic fail, not our armed forces on the ground in Afghanistan.

Doug Watt: rest the story of the French cannot fight.

For a country with a reputation of not fighting, France has been in a lot of wars the last 500 years.

At least 45% of the voters in America voted for Biden.

The French still know what it means to be French.  And they still love France.

Given the clusterfark of their own 18th century revolution, it’s interesting how they escape condemnation, but the United States is spoiled from the get-go because our history is imperfect. Probably that whole “egalite” business. A magic word that wipes away many sins.

They still honor their revolution a lot more than they should, while we dishonor ours a lot more than we should.
