The Other Shoe
Was COVID a black swan event? Some say yes, but why? A pandemic caused the entire world to shutter (and shudder), and new rules, regulations, and restrictions were imposed at a rapid rate. This has never happened before. Diseases have come and gone, but none have changed the world to this extent. What’s next?
I heard a podcast by a regular Ricochet podcast contributor, finance guru Carol Roth, on Glenn Beck this week; give it a listen. Everything circles back to The World Economic Forum. It seems too coincidental how so many things are falling into place: social, political, financial, environmental, economical (stakeholder capitalism anyone?) nutritional (I know – but check out the WEF’s plans for food) educational, medical (medical passports – and finally, one governmental ID to buy, sell, enter events, travel, etc.), even spiritual changes (censorship) that line up with the plans of the WEF’s Great Reset.

I think the next shoe to drop will be a financial one, and it will be more centralized government control. Is America the last Capitalist, free-market country in the world, or has it passed that point and is now a hybrid? A hybrid of what? Carol Roth details it. We know what Venezuela looks like, Cuba, Zimbabwe, and other countries that were once flourishing, productive, and prosperous. Is this an orchestrated effort to reduce control over our individual lives, through work (or lack of a universal income?), education, freedom, home ownership, small business entrepreneurship, online speech, employment, taxation, social justice, safety and law enforcement and many other aspects of our lives? Why aren’t post-COVID jobs being filled? Why are all industries struggling to find workers, and key materials still in such short supply (pay attention to the supply chains)?
The third shoe to drop, I think, will be the topic of climate change. The sun may be getting hotter, the earth may be going through a natural phase of warming, which has been documented throughout history (including periods of cooling), all-natural and out of our control. My theory is God is very pissed with the human race and Hell is making more room, but the message of the day will be that “humans” are to blame.
Too many babies, families, cars, homes. The Great Reset says their agenda for 2030 is, “You will own nothing and be happy”, as in renting. As we speak, hedge funds are buying up entire neighborhoods for double the price, outpricing the average buyer. Why?
This message showed up loud and clear, via Apple News on my cell phone this week with headlines like: “We are paying with our lives for the carbon someone else emitted” – a comment highlighted from responses about the UN’s Climate Change Report.
Forget Left, Right, Progressive, Conservative, or even (the paid-for) Radicals. The unelected are writing our future. Keep your eyes open – do your own research. Prepare accordingly.

Roth is great and her point that the government over-reaction was the black swan is brilliant. Respiratory pandemics happen every decade or two and some are worse than others. Our politicians took advantage of the Wuhan Lab Flu to grab power and transfer wealth from workers to billionaires.
I think the prize is Climate Climate. COVID was a happy coincidence that provided the opportunity for Governments around the world to have a dry-run of the command and control mechanisms they’ll require to deal with the Climate Emergency. If this is what they can get us to accept in the face of a disease whose most vulnerable demographic has a 90% survival rate, just imagine what we can be expected to endure in the face of an Existential Cataclysm…a potential species-ending catastrophe! It’ll be they elite’s opportunity to remake the world … apparently without much resistance.
Carol Roth even said we are being conditioned to accept changes – she also mentioned dry-runs. One emergency seems to set up the next one in lock-step, to implement new draconian measures we’ve never seen. Take George Floyd for example. Did this spawn the defund the police which spawned the major uptick in crime, and open attacked on the innocent, racial attacks? Everyone was sorry for what happened to George Floyd and justice was served – why are things not improving?
Just wait for the “you need to stay home because of the” climate lockdowns.

Anyway, I will be sure and check in on the Carol Roth info. I still have to finish up this week’s “Delingpole” podcast on Ricochet’s featured podcasts. It featured Jon Rappaport, one of my fave people in alt journalism/alt health.
I agree – the response was the black swan event . . .
It is less a conspiracy than an amoeboid attack by a shared blob of sensibilities. Those who think they are part of an elite simply have an aversion to the idea of freedom, unplanned lives and unplanned economic systems but mostly it is the fantasy that if we shut out the voices of the ignorant and gave power to the enlightened technocrats then we would all be happier. It is closer to John Dewey, Woodrow Wilson, and Benito Mussolini than Lenin but the end result is always Lenin.
Dewey ain’t Lenin.
(But I’m not saying there’s nothing wrong with Dewey.)
Get economics wrong and also assume reprogramming children and absolute expert rule is the path to the golden age and long before that golden age arrives you will be arrested as a traitor to the revolution you unleashed and yes—hello Lenin. Dewey was a putz.

Dewey was contemptuous of markets and economic freedom. Profits were inherently wrong somehow. The right of the state to educate kids as it sees fit was virtually absolute. When you remove the presumptions underpinning economic and personal freedoms, you don’t have to advocate absolute rule. The real trick would be trying to prevent the rapid emergence of technocrat dictatorship once you reverse those presumptions.
Our idiot president is openly abusing his office to rewrite state property law and issue mask mandates. Imagine what a non-moron “managing” a far more challenging crisis could do with a greatly strengthened administrative state.
You know, when walking in a long line there’s the hurry-up-and-slow-down. The front walks at a consistent pace but more and more to the back the pace varies fast and slow to and fast again to catch up, like a slinky.
Slow down and have no kids, and then speed up, speed up to have many kids to make up for the lag in population growth that we ordered.
That seems to be the way government regulation and micro-management works.
Again, where is this stuff in Dewey? In what book does he say this?
I’ve spent some real time in Democracy and Education and some other writings. I’m not saying there’s nothing wrong there, but I can’t say I remember reading any of this stuff in Dewey.

I must respectfully push back a bit on this….the Black Death in Eurasia and Small Pox in the Americas changed the world much more than Covid has or ever will. If we had a pandemic like either of those today it would make Covid look like nothing more than a 12 hour stomach bug or hangover. Something like those in today’s world…..I shudder at the death toll….a billion maybe?? Whole cities would be nothing but dead in the streets and since 75% of the population would not know how to feed itself society would totally collapse. While it does not seem like we have learned a thing from Covid let’s hope soon cooler heads prevail and we do learn as the next pathogen pandemic will most likely be much more deadly and disruptive.
Is our own left that able? Or are they easily manipulated? Then the question is who is capable of such manipulation and who is playing this whole thing in a way to come out on top? We know the answer to the last question but does it answer the previous questions? We can’t know but we know where the disease came from and who spread it across the world on purpose.
Would you then say the difference between then and now is those diseases emerged naturally, as opposed to the questionable COVID origins? Also people didn’t have the ability to travel across the world instantly to spread it? How long did it take to die out and how long did it take to develop a smallpox vaccine?
So true. If people were simply left alone, they’d end up better off.
