Domestic Security Threats

The news is full of the Democrats’ putting in place various tools to criminalize political differences. Once again we have them learning nothing and forgetting nothing. Does anyone remember the judicial nomination filibuster? Sen. McConnell warned Democrats not to nuke the filibuster, but Harry Reid went ahead and did it. As we know, it was a very short time later that the Democrats rued that decision.  Thanks to President Trump and Sen. McConnell, we got a mixture of good and (potentially) great new Justices, as opposed to bad and awful ones. (Is there any doubt now that Merrick Garland would have been an awful Justice?)

Well, the Dems are at it again. From Pelosi’s January 6 Star Chamber, to the Pentagon, to the DOJ, etc., they are breaking norms at a breath-taking rate. When we get back in power — and we will, the wheel always turns — they will have put in place the tools for us to use, and broken all the norms. Furthermore, they will have established a highly visible trail of counter-examples to use when they decry us for “fascism,” etc.

The list of domestic terrorists in the Donkey column is long and obvious. The investigations of the deep money ties between prominent Dems and Antifa could be very entertaining. The gangland ties of Lori Lightfoot, the crackpipe Biden videos … it will be time to go after them tooth and nail. The Woke Pentagon Generals need to be cashiered ruthlessly (and, yes, that can happen with Congressional pressure, pressure that Sen. Cotton and Rep. Crenshaw know how to apply). The unacceptable Dems on House committees need to be refused seating by Speaker McCarthy, etc.

I know some think we don’t have the wherewithal to play for keeps, but after the murder turtle’s masterful exploitation of Reidian short-sightedness, combined with the increasing level at which McCarthy is showing he has a spine. (I will grant it’s not showing as fast as many would like, but he has a whole conference to bring along.) I think enough of the GOP conference is ready for blood on the floor. The key is, of course, 2022. If enough hardball GOPers are elected, then it will give Speaker McCarthy the backing and the motivation to move hard. And this needs to be hardball for results, not for show.

Obviously, a Biden/Garland administration is not going to prosecute any Democrats, but Congress can lay the groundwork, and shut down the Democrats. It’s always better to be on offense.

The Republicans will never fight back and never make the Democrats pay for their abuses.

I “like”d the post because I am an optimist.  So let it be written; so let it be done.

    Also, I indulge wishful thinkers.

Be leery of Republicans that grow teeth when out of power. They all fall out in December of election years.

No Caesar: When we get back in power — and we will, the wheel always turns — they will have put in place the tools for us to use, and broken all the norms.

No, we won’t, not when elections have been so thoroughly corrupted.

And even if we do, what does it matter?  The Republicants are all pussies.  They never apply fire and brimstone.  Never have.  When they had POTUS and both houses of congress from 2017-19, they couldn’t even get a wall built or a health care bill repealed.

The RepubliCAN’Ts had no intention of ever building the long promised wall or actually repealing and replacing Obamacare, which they had lied through their teeth about five years to gain power and money for themselves.

Yes, which is why the only candidate you can trust is one who states right now that they will vote to oust McCarthy, McConnell and their cronies from leadership, and will withhold their membership from the GOP caucus unless the current corrupt, lying, or incompetent leadership is dumped. No majority, no committee chairmanships without actual change in personnel.

    Period.

    I don’t share your optimism

Indeed, I wish the opposite of your nome de plume.

I am ready for Caesar to move us from this corrupt Republic to an Empire that will stand against the world threat of China.

If only that were the type of Caesar we could count on getting…

This assumes our elections will be free and fair going forward. Let’s just say I have my doubts.

Agree with you No. But maybe because I am an optimist. Rs did not do great in 2017-2019.  But better than the opposition.  Supreme Court judge;s less regulation and taxes, Middle East peace; wall at the border . Not that much to complain about other than the absurd debt. Cannot see any down side in kicking Nancy and the weird 5 squad out next year. Then will see what happens.
