Sharing Our Love of Good Food, Good Bourbon, and Peter Robinson-Inspired Fashion

So Stad calls me and says that he’s getting some friends together, and they’d love to have me join them.  I just roll my eyes, figuring this is going to be just another intervention. But it turned out to be a lovely, relaxing evening. Bryan and Chris hoped to come, but were apparently insufficiently inspired by my “Tell them Boss sent you” piece — they were busy, and they took rainchecks. Stad and Neutral Observer were wonderful hosts for Phil and me at their beautiful home, Stad made delicious fajitas, and I brought (surprise!) bourbon to share. My daughter Julia even came down from Clemson for a few hours. Of course, we all toasted Boss Mongo.

Neutral Observer, Dr. Bastiat, Phil Turmel, and Stad doing their Peter Robinson imitations.

I hope to host a get-together when the weather is less horrifyingly humid in Hilton Head. But who knows when I’ll get around to it. So it was wonderful to take the opportunity to share a meal with some friends.

Thanks again for hosting, Neutral Observer and Stad! It was a great evening.

Life is good.

And for those who don’t know, Stad is at or over six feet tall. Those two lads in the middle are troll-sized.

Dr. Bastiat: I brought (surprise!) bourbon to share.

All this bourbon can’t be good for you . . . maybe try working a little Scotch into the mix.

I’m a little over 5’11”.  However, tall women don’t intimidate me.  My first wife was 5’11”, and I’ve met @6foot2inhighheels (it should be 6foot2 then add high heels).  Having Julia hang out with us was pretty darned cool . . .
