The ‘Undimmed Danger’

Holy Moly!  I read a piece on a website (I don’t even know where or how I ended up there) and I’m still wondering why it was written. The title references Trump’s “….undimmed danger” and the point being made: “It’s the extreme danger that the US system of government, Constitution and cherished freedoms would face if an ex-President even now trying to revive his demagogic political career ever gets anywhere near the Oval Office again.”

Why is Trump such a scary bad guy to these people? Is it because he came into office and simply bypassed the press? Is it because he didn’t pay enough attention to the “consensus of the interagency?”  Is it because he beat The Hillary so well in that election where she was supposed to be the First Woman President?

Reading these articles that analyze a series of new books (some by Washington Post reporters, some by CNN talkers, and I think one is by General Mark Milley, former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) I am struck by the ferocity of the need for these authors to continue to beat the dead corpse of the defeated candidate for US President in 2020’s election. (Also, Milley should resign … a military officer is not supposed to be political.)

I am also dismayed by the ridicule heaped on the Trump supporters at CPAC, and people who voted for him in general. There is so much contempt for the Red State doofuses, I wonder if these critics feel compelled to wash their hands after they type “Red States.”Maybe they just squirt some hand sanitizer on them. But, this dismissal of more than one-half of the voting population is nothing new. It has been going on for decades. However, it seems like it has been the default for “journalists” ever since the Red/Blue identifiers were first articulated.

Is there a serious fear that Trump really has a chance for re-election as president? I voted for him. I was very disappointed when he lost to Biden. But, I don’t know if he’d be a serious candidate in three more years. He’d be as old as Doddering Joe is now.

Anyone here think (like I’m thinking) that exaggeration of Trump, the Jan. 6 mess at the Capitol, and things he said or did in office, are just attempts to fling around enough BS so that any attempt by DJT to reenter the political arena as a candidate will be impossible?

I feel discouraged. After all, the last time he ran, all the opposition forces (and by that, I reference the Media) courted and promoted Trump because they thought it would be so hilarious and a good way to squash the success of any of the other GOP candidates. Then, they found themselves in a quandary because he succeeded! So, now they’ve learned? So now they have to go all-0ut to destroy him?

It is dismaying for many reasons, and especially because we live in such a divided information world.  If you faithfully watch and read the (completely-discredited, in my opinion) Mainstream Media, you have no idea that you’re watching completely biased, one-sided, often completely invented (Russia-Gate) “news.” I have had conversations with people who have never even heard of some of the people and things that might be negative towards the Democrats/Liberals. I was really amazed until I realized that if it was reported on Fox TV, or presented on any of the talk radio stations I listen to, or websites such as Breitbart, Powerline, Ricochet, Town Hall, etc., some people would have no knowledge of so many stories that would bring a positive view to conservatives and a criticism or revelation about something nefarious on the lefty side of American politics. We are in news silos…

They are not afraid of him.  They disdain him and his lowborn voters.

They’re furious that he denied them their prize, for one thing. Another is that any populist threatens their livelihoods; they scent the peril even though they don’t know it consciously. People of the left tend to live by persuasion, and develop fine antennas.

I think she ran because it was “her turn.” After all the crap that she put up with being married to Bill, she had made it clear that she was entitled to it. And…she could have divorced Bill way back when…he was her path to The Top. She was such a token.

And she lost in the primaries to the first (half-)black president, then lost in the general election to the first orange president.  Boo-hoo.

True that every (R) President has been demonized by the press.

However, IMO the demonization of Trump was outrageously out of bounds, and uniquely special in that the  MSM coverage of Trump completely exposed the MSM as not just liberal leaning, but rather, a wholly owned subsidiary of the (D) Party.

The mainstays of the MSM (ie: NYT, WaPo, ABC, NBC, CBS,PBS, etc.) are now considered a (D) Lefty clown car operation by more than half the Country, and it is unlikely the MSM will ever recover the trust they once had(which wasn’t much), or that the MSM even desires to gain the trust of the “other” half since the “other” half is the opposition party.

Trump exposed them all as bankrupt frauds!  And I mean “bankrupt” in every sense of the word:  Fiscally, morally, intellectually;  and like the rich kids they are, they are busy squandering their inheritance and maxing out the credit cards.

Well, that and anyone who they can associate with him. They want it so that a photo of anyone on a stage with Trump is akin to being on a stage with Hitler himself. Make Trump into a devil so that anyone who ever supported him can be smeared as a demon.

One of our own notorious members declared that he’d never vote for any Republican who appeared at an event with President Trump — an indication of just how far gone some Nevers are.

I don’t read everything he posts, as a lot of it tends to be repeats.  But if he said that over and over, I’m surprised that I missed it.  A statement that extreme is something I would notice.

No, Trump’s quite special.  I remember the demonization of Nixon, Ford, RR, George 1 and W.  It was nothing like what they heaped on DJT.  Nor, to my knowledge, did the FBI, CIA, DOJ and every other swamp denizen conspire to successfully take out Ford, RR, George 1 and W.

    But we’re hijacking here.

Anyway, there are always these weird accusations of President Trump having been some “existential threat” to the nation, but never any specifics. We’re just supposed to accept the threat at face value.

Sadly, that’s all it takes for some — a repetition of their deepest fears, with little or no confirmation necessary.

Yes, they always demonize Republicans, but with President Trump they took it to a whole ‘nother level. And unfortunately, for the nation, too many “Republicans” assisted with this demonization. (Including former Republican Presidents.)

And the usual suspects keep up their caterwauling (DJT an existential threat to our democracy, Jan. 6 was an insurrection, and on and on) so as to enable their “reform” of the voting laws, such that will make it impossible for anyone outside of their “club” to gain the Oval Office again. (Oh and the filibuster now is RACIST.)

All of the prior Republican establishments played nice with the media. Trump was the first to really expose them and break their control over the narrative. No president had ever ran on that, or even talked about it. Think about Trump’s policies. What would they not like? More spending. More welfare. More spending… he wasn’t offering anything radical. Trump was a 20th century Democrat with a little bit of Bob Taft foreign policy mixed in. They hated him because he was the only one to wake people up to their BS.

The best example of this is the vaccine. The media went absolutely bonkers on anyone proposing vaccination under Trump. It’s not ready yet. Trump is literally trying to kill you with this. Trump is lying about how far in development this is. These statements are not four years old, they were from October! They went from “the vaccine will kill you,” to “take the vaccine or give up all civil liberties” overnight. It’s the biggest flip I’ve ever seen and they have no shame about it. Trump would have called them out on this, but he’s gone. They have their power back, and they will lie right to your face and make you like it. That’s why they uniquely hated Trump, he denied them their peasant class.

Well, Democrats have always projected their sins on others.

This is always true: If you want to know what Democrats are up to, just pay attention to what they’re accusing others of doing.

Lots of people on the Right accuse Trump of being a threat to the Republic, such that voting for a Biden was reasonable.

In fact, every attack on Trump I have seen made by people on the Right can be laid at Biden’s feet. Biden is far more guilty of overriding norms than Trump in his history, and clearly the one addled in the head.

No, it boils down 100% to the face that Trump is “Not one of us”. Trump is from the outside. That is a bridge too far for even lovers of Reagan, even though he was hated on the right for also being from the outside. Reagan was smoother and operated in a different time, when Democrats and Republicans still cared about America as patriots.
