RMFC Exhibition Match: In Honor of Boss Mongo
Brendan was one of the coolest characters I’ve ever been blessed to know. He was also one of the all-time great Ricochet members. His humor and unique insight into the world around us will be sorely missed. In honor of him I’d like to posit this question: Who is the coolest movie character you wish you could know in real life?
Nothing on the line here. Just for kicks and giggles.

What’s his favorite color?
Grace.
I thought of him as a mix of Mr. Chips and Jason Bourne.
Official answer: Detective Frank Drebin, Police Squad.
Apart from everyone already mentioned (“Rick” was presumably Mr. Blaine), I think Henry Jones, Jr would be fun to have over for a meal. Only I’m doing the cooking, as I don’t favor chilled monkey brains or eyeball soup. Oh, yeah, with Senior.
Wasn’t Wallace a Scot?
He wasn’t very fond either. Make a dessert with dates.
Keeping it confined to fictional characters, I’m thinking I gotta got with Falkor, the flying sofa… er… luck dragon.
Beware the bad dates.
FYI for folks who aren’t familiar with the Ricochet Movie Fight Club (RMFC): We post a new question every Saturday, whoever gets the most likes by the following Friday wins and gets to choose the next question. This week the official question is What is the best western movie ever made? And it’s a pretty tight contest this time with @lidenscheng and The Searchers trying to hold on to a narrow lead over @seawriter and The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance and @eustacecscrubb and Unforgiven.
This is an exhibition match and as such there are no rules. The normal rules are listed below:

Notes:
Disregard. I was trying to put the previous fights listing up but it’s too long and the bulleted numbers are all screwy.
Rick from Casablanca.
Anyone who can look a Nazi in the eye and tell him to stay out of some NYC neighborhoods because they’re a bit rough, is worth hanging out with.
Hon. Mention: Jack Burton from Big Trouble In Little China.
Wallace was. (He also wore normal Medieval clothing and armor, not kilts, but that’s another story.) The dark-haired character in that movie clip was Irish.
Thanks, Arahant, for the clarification. I didn’t see the whole clip. The sound was very low for the computer I’m on, so it was unintelligible (and kind of annoying, as it looked pretty dramatic; it’s been a long time since I saw the film).
Thank you @Seawriter. I was only familiar with the earlier movie. I’ll read the novella before school starts.
Cthulu’s is the color out of space. Hastur is yellow.
Stephen is one of the most memorable characters in the film.
I’ve been on a few of those myself, in my younger years.
I thought he would be taller.
Its not the age, its the mileage,
Has Miller Crossing’s Leo come up? I know Boss loved that one.
Who wouldn’t want to be pals with “an artist with a Thompson?”
I’m torn between him and Connery’s “Jim Malone.”
And edging out EDISONPARKS ( @user_54742 ) /Steve McQueen (comment # 19) with 22 likes is @jennastocker and Cool Hand Luke (comment #34). Sorry, Jenna, there is no prize for exhibition matches but you’ll be counted among the greats in the record books. And Boss would have been proud of you…and would have agreed.
P.S. Jenna, EDISONPARKS, you’re both pretty good at this. Tune in Saturday morning to play the real game.
I think I’d stay away from Roland.
My profile page since 2010 =
Fair. They gotta keep their head.
Dang. That’s a great pick.
Shakin the tree, Boss!
